About The Glazer Family Foundation
Since its inception, the Glazer Family Foundation has donated millions of dollars to foster ongoing community outreach programs dedicated to youth and family development. The Foundation’s commitment to their mission of bettering the lives of children and families throughout Central Florida is evident through current and past outreach efforts.
- Culture and the Arts: Glazer Children's Museum - The Glazer Family Foundation proudly supports culture and the arts throughout the Tampa area. The Foundation’s donation of $5 million to the Glazer Children’s Museum enabled the museum to open its doors in 2010. The Glazer Children’s Museum has quickly become a Bay-area landmark providing over one million children and their families with unique opportunities to play, discover, and connect with the world around them.
- Pediatric Health: Glazer Family Foundation Vision Program - The Glazer Family Foundation Vision program was created in 1999 to improve the lives of children struggling in school due to the lack of proper vision care. For over a decade the Foundation’s Vision Program has made vision screenings, eye exams, and prescriptions more accessible to children in disadvantaged communities across the Bay area. Through a sizeable donation of vision screening equipment from the Glazer Family Foundation Vision program, eye screenings have been made possible for thousands of children in Hillsborough County’s Head Start Program, as well as thousands of more school-age children in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Osceola and Orange County school systems.
- Glazer Family Foundation Vision Mobile - This state-of-the-art, traveling eye clinic is an extension of the Glazer Family Foundation Vision Program and was established in 2009 to make proper vision care more available to students in underserved neighborhoods. The Glazer Family Foundation Vision Mobile visits 60 Hillsborough and Pinellas County Title I elementary schools each year and to date, has provided 66,000 screenings, 11,000 eye exams, traveled almost 6,500 miles, and distributed over 9,000 prescription glasses.
By focusing on specific community needs, by improving proper vision care, educational opportunities, and youth development, the Glazer Family Foundation is making a sustainable impact in Tampa now and for generations to come.
