Thanks to tremendous support from the community this season, underprivileged children and families have received much-needed food and athletic equipment through the Glazer Family Foundation's 2013 game day collection drives. Fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been admirable this year in helping those less fortunate, and there is still one more chance to give back.
-- For 37 years, the Bucs and the Marine Corps Reserve have been teaming up to bring holiday toys to kids in need
On Sunday, December 15, when the Buccaneers host the San Francisco 49ers for their 2013 home finale, the Glazer Family Foundation and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will collect new, unwrapped toys during the annual "Toys for Tots" drive at Raymond James Stadium. From 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Marines will collect toys throughout Raymond James Stadium parking lots at the yellow collection tents approaching stadium entrances. The donated toys will benefit the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, which will distribute the donations to underprivileged children throughout the Bay Area. This is the 37th year that Buccaneers fans and the Marine Corps have united to raise the spirits of children in need during the holiday season. All fans that make a donation on Sunday will be entered into a drawing to win authentic team-signed merchandise.
The Glazer Family Foundation is dedicated to assisting charitable and educational causes in the Central Florida region. The Foundation helps better the lives of children and families by establishing lasting, impactful programs throughout Florida communities. The Glazer family, which owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, established the Foundation in 1999. Since that time, the Glazer Family Foundation has given millions of dollars in programs, grants, tickets and merchandise to the Tampa Bay area, including a $5 million donation toward the construction of the Glazer Children's Museum.
