On Wednesday, the league announced that Glennon has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November. He is the first Buccaneer to win that award since running back
Glennon was masterful in leading the Buccaneers to a 3-1 record in November, with the only loss an overtime defeat on the road to Seattle, owners of the best record in the NFL. In those four games, Glennon completed 62 of 88 passes (70.5%) for 785 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. That performance produces a 119.7 passer rating that is not only remarkable for a rookie with just four previous starts under his belt but also the best mark by any player in the NFL during that span, newcomer or veteran (minimum of 80 attempts).
Glennon also led the NFL during the month of November in touchdown percentage (8.0%) and yards per pass attempt (8.92) while ranking second in completion percentage and seventh in interception percentage (1.1%). Glennon, the third quarterback selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, following the Buffalo Bills' E.J. Manuel and the New York Jets' Geno Smith, is the first QB to win the Rookie of the Month award this season. The honor went to Houston wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in September and Green Bay running back Eddie Lacy in October.
Glennon has also been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week, which is determined by fan voting on NFL.com. Click here to cast your ballot; voting continues through Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
