2008: Started all 16 games at center for Tampa Bay… Named an offensive team captain in 2008… Helped lead the offense to 5,456 total yards, the highest single-season total in franchise history… Helped lead the offense to 361 points, the second-highest single-season total in team history (388 points in 2000)… Started at center in his Buccaneers debut at New Orleans (9/7)… Helped the Buccaneers offense rush for 146 yards on 20 carries, an average of 7.3 yards per carry, which is the third-highest single-game average in team history… Started at center vs. Atlanta (9/14) and helped the Buccaneers offense rush for 164 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns… Started at center at Chicago (9/21) and was part of an offense that did not allow a sack in a team-record 67 pass attempts… Started at center vs. Green Bay (9/28)… Led the offense to a season-high 178 rushing yards and did not allow a sack for the second straight week… Started at center vs. Carolina (10/12) and helped the offense rush for 142 yards and not allow a sack for the third time in four weeks… Started at center at Kansas City (11/2) and was part of an offensive line that did not allow a sack for the fourth time this season… Started at center at Detroit (11/23) and helped the team rush for over 100 yards for the seventh time this season… Started at center vs. New Orleans (11/30) and helped the team rush for 149 yards, the third-highest rushing total of the season… Started at center vs. Oakland (12/28) and helped the offense rush for over 100 yards for the 10th time this season.

2007: Started every regular season game for New Orleans except at San Francisco (10/28) and vs. Jacksonville (11/4)… Was inactive for two contests (at San Francisco, vs. Jacksonville) due to pectoral strain… Selected by his teammates as one of five season-long captains… Centered an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in the league in 2007 with 16… Was flagged only once in 2007 (holding call against Tennessee)… Helped block for a New Orleans offense that finished the season as the fourth-ranked offense in the league… Was a Pro Bowl alternate selection.

2006: Started all 16 games at center for New Orleans for the first time in his career… Also started both playoff contests… Was a key part of an offensive line that paved the way for the NFL’s No. 1-ranked offense, with 6,264 net yards.

2005: Started all 14 games at center for Cleveland before suffering a biceps injury at Oakland (12/18)… Was placed on injured reserve on December 20, 2006 and missed the final two games of the year.

2004: Started 13 games at center for Cleveland before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in mid-December… Placed on injured reserve on December 14, 2004.

2003: Earned starting center position at start of training camp and opened nine games on the year for Cleveland… Suffered left knee injury vs. Oakland (10/12) and was inactive for the next three contests… Returned vs. Arizona (11/16) before suffering an ankle injury vs. Pittsburgh (11/23) that ended his season… Placed on injured reserve on November 26, 2003.

 

Three-year starter at Notre Dame who led linemen in playing time over final two seasons… All-American first-team selection by ESPN.com and The Sporting News in 2002… Finalist for the Rimington Award, awarded to the nation’s top center, and semifinalist for the Lombardi Award, given to the country’s best offensive linemanin 2002… Recipient of the school’s Nick Pietrosante Award as the player who best exemplifies courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and pride… Opened every game from 2000-2002… Redshirted as a freshman in 1999… Earned a degree in communications.
