2007: Appeared in 12 contests and inactive for four others (at Carolina, at Indianapolis, vs. Tennessee and at Detroit)… Also appeared in one playoff contest… Totaled six defensive tackles and 11 special teams tackles… Made NFL debut at Seattle (9/9), posting one special teams tackle… Had one special teams stop vs. New Orleans (9/16)… Tied for the team lead with two special teams tackles vs. Jacksonville (10/28)… Totaled two special teams stops vs. Arizona (11/4)… Notched two special teams tackles at Atlanta (11/18)… Saw late action on defense vs. Atlanta (12/16)… Saw significant action on defense at San Francisco (12/23), totaling first two career defensive tackles… Also had one special teams tackle against the 49ers… Registered a career-high four tackles in his most extensive action of the season vs. Carolina (12/30)… Added two special teams tackles against the Panthers… Had one special teams tackle in NFC Wild Card game vs. N.Y. Giants (1/6).

 

Played in 22 games with 11 starts for Portland State, earning All-American and unanimous All-Big Sky Conference honors for his performance at strongside linebacker… Totaled 123 tackles, 11 sacks and 19 tackles for losses and seven passes defensed while forcing four fumbles and recovering another with the Vikings… As a senior, was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award after leading the team with 104 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for losses in 11 starts… Also forced three fumbles and recovered another while registering seven passes defensed… Played in 11 games as a junior and finished season with 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for losses and one forced fumble after transferring from Colorado State… Appeared in one game for Colorado State in 2004, recording one special teams tackle... Started eight contests as strong safety for Colorado State in 2003, registering 23 tackles and one forced fumble to go along with five passes defensed… As a freshman, appeared in seven games as a reserve free safety for the Rams, primarily on special teams… Posted nine tackles and forced one fumble… Majored in business administration.
 

Traveled to Bahrain, the Persian Gulf, Spain and Italy to greet and visit with U.S. Naval troops stationed overseas in January-February 2009…Participated in the second annual Buccaneers Day of Giving, surprising 30 needy families with holiday gifts, tickets, and a shopping spree in December 2008… Along with teammates Phillip Buchanon, Andrew Economos, John Gilmore and Elbert Mack, led children through the HOPSports Training System at the Interbay Boys & Girls Club during Hometown Huddle in October 2008…Visited with and sang Christmas Carols for patients at All Children’s Hospital during the rookie club’s annual visit to the hospital in 2007… Sang Christmas Carols at Westminster Palms Nursing Home in St. Petersburg with members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rookie Club in December 2007… Honored staff and veterans hospitalized at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital during the Buccaneers Veterans Day Ice Cream Social in November 2007… Hosted a football camp for 60 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and MacDill Air Force Base with the Buccaneers Rookie Club in June 2007… Took a trip to DisneyQuest with children from Central Florida Boys & Girls Club as part of the Buccaneers Rookie Club in June 2007… As a member of the Buccaneers Rookie Club, bowled with children from Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tampa Bay and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pinellas County on Memorial Day 2007… As a member of the 2007 Buccaneers Rookie Club, joined underprivileged children on a bowling outing, coached local youth at the Rookie Club Football Camp, took a trip to DisneyQuest with children from the Boys & Girls Club, visited patients at All Children’s Hospital and sang Christmas carols for residents at Westminster Palms Nursing Home in St. Petersburg…Attended Marina High School (Westminster, California)… Earned all-region honors from PrepStar… Two-time all-league choice… Posted 90 tackles, including 10 stops for losses, six sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions as a senior... Earned MVP honors for his performance at the Orange County vs. Los Angeles All-Star Game… Was clocked at 4.42 in the 40-yard dash while competing for the school’s track team… Born Adam Hayward on June 23, 1984 in Long Beach, California.
