Biography

Acquired:

Selected in the third round (107th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers.

 

College:

Played in 47 games, with 29 starts, at LSU (2013-16), totaling 263 tackles (24.5 for loss), 7.5 sacks, eight passes defensed, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one interception (returned 29 yards for a touchdown).

Despite playing in only 10 games after suffering an injury, ranked second on the team in tackles, with 91, while his 9.1 tackles per game were second in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Also added six tackles for loss, four passes defensed, one fumble recovery and one sack.

As a senior (2016), earned All-America honors from multiple organizations, including the Associated Press (third-team), while also earning All-SEC distinction from both the AP and the league’s coaches.

Had a career-high 16 tackles against Alabama, in helping limit the Crimson Tide to just 10 points in a 10-0 loss.

Part of an LSU defense that led the nation in touchdowns allowed per game, at 1.33 per contest, while also ranking in the top three of the SEC in scoring defense, rushing defense, pass defense and total defense.

A semifinalist for both the Bednarik and Butkus Awards as a junior (2015) after starting all 12 games at middle linebacker, totaling 84 tackles (10 for loss) and 3.5 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and one pass defensed.

In the Texas Bowl against Texas Tech, had four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, both of which were single-game career bests.

As a sophomore (2014), played in all 13 games, starting the final seven, recording 77 tackles (7.5 for loss), three passes defensed, 2.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception (returned 29 yards for a touchdown).

Earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week after registering 11 tackles (one for loss) and a pass defensed as the Tigers beat then-No. 3 Ole Miss (10/25/14).

Returned an interception 29 yards for a touchdown against New Mexico State (9/27/14).

Played in 12 games as a true freshman in 2013, tallying 11 tackles (one for loss), one sack and a forced fumble.

Majored in sports administration.

A consensus four-star recruit and an Under Armour All-American who competed in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game in Tampa (1/4/13).
