Acquired By Bucs: 

Selected in the first round (19th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers.

 

College: 

Played in 57 games, with 37 starts, including 28 of the final 30 of his collegiate career.

Finished his career with 114 receptions for 1,726 yards and seven touchdowns.

In two College Football Playoff National Championship Games against Clemson, totaled nine receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns.

A first-team All-American selection by Pro Football Focus and a third-team selection by the Associated Press, as a senior (2016), Howard started 13-of-15 games, recording 45 catches for 595 yards and three touchdowns. 

Earned second-team All-SEC honors from both the league’s coaches and the AP

Was one of three finalists for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation’s best tight end.

Started all 15 games as a junior (2015), catching 38 passes for 602 yards (15.8 avg.).

Named MVP of the National Championship Game against Clemson (1/11/16) after catching five passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns. His 208 receiving yards were the most in a bowl game by any player in Alabama history and the most by any player in a National Championship Game.

Played in 14 games, with three starts, as a sophomore (2014), catching 17 passes for 260 yards.

As a true freshman (2013), played in 13 games, with six starts, totaling 269 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 catches, averaging a team-leading 19.2 yards per catch.

Attended Autauga Academy (Prattville, Alabama)

Participated in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game.

Top tight end prospect in the country, rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 7 prospect nationally in the Rivals 100.

In July 2017, hosted the inaugural “Got Da Juice” backpack drive and community day in his hometown for 300 children.

Served as a special guest at the annual “Sneaker Soiree” fundraiser for the Tampa Bay Sports Commission in June 2017.

In June 2017, toured MacDill Air Force Base to greet military servicemen and servicewomen and learn about the important role that the base plays in the Tampa community and beyond. 

In June 2017, went go-karting with first-year members from Tampa Fire Rescue.
