John Zvijac
Head Team Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. John Zvijac enters his 14th season as head team orthopedic surgeon for the Buccaneers in 2011. 

Zvijac was instrumental as the Buccaneers claimed their first Super Bowl title in 2002 against the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, in addition to capturing three NFC South division titles in the past eight seasons.  Overall, he has been a part of four division titles with the Buccaneers.

Dr. Zvijac is a professor at the University of Miami School of Education, Department of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, as well as associate professor School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics at Florida International University and professor in Exercise Science and Sports Science at Florida International University. In addition, he is a member of the Athletic Training Education Advisory Board at Florida International University. He is in private practice at the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables.

Zvijac provides medical care for all Miami-Dade County Public High Schools and is also the team physician for the Florida Panthers of the NHL  and Florida International University. He is presently the Florida delegate  for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Zvijac graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He also fulfilled an additional year of fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.

Zvijac resides in Miami with his wife, Gail.
