TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 24, 2018) — Rookie members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , including 2018 first round selection Vita Vea, Ronald Jones, Carlton Davis III, M.J. Stewart and Jordan Whitehead are bringing the NFL experience to students from The Berkeley Academy Program and Sligh Middle Magnet School on Oct. 30. Moffitt Cancer Center's lawn will transform into a makeshift football field where students from the Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Program will learn how to tackle like a pro, throw passes, and feel the rush of scoring touchdowns thanks to the NFL's "Play 60" equipment provided by the Bucs.
The Dairy Council of Florida will join the krewe. Students will fuel up on chocolate milk provided by M & B Dairy of Lecanto, FL before participating in Mooga, cow-inspired yoga geared toward teachers, students and their families. The youths will also have the opportunity to power the blender bike, which blends smoothies while they pedal.
The Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Program is an innovative health education program that teaches students the importance of healthy nutrition, exercise and the dangers of smoking. Students will learn more about cancer prevention before hitting the gridiron for a pewter practice with the Bucs.
The Bucs Street Team RV will be onsite giving children, patients and Moffitt team members an inside look into Buccaneers football from the comfort of the customized recreational vehicle.
The Bucs rookies will also bring some tricks and treats to the cancer center as they visit patients. This portion of the event will be closed to the media, however footage of the player-patient interaction will be provided.
