Buccaneers-Cowboys Injury Report Dec. 19: Jason Pierre-Paul Sits While DeSean Jackson Returns

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was the only Bucs player to sit out of practice on Wednesday ahead of the team’s matchup against the Cowboys in Dallas this weekend.

The Buccaneers listed a total of four players on their first injury report of the week and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was the only one held out entirely. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson returned in a limited capacity after sitting out the past few weeks with a thumb injury.

Head Coach Dirk Koetter said Jackson looked fine in practice today, going on to talk about the impact Jackson has while on the field. He is able to draw defenders with his speed and explosive-play ability, helping out the entire offense while he's on the field. Practicing Wednesday was a step in the right direction for Jackson to potentially play in Dallas.

The Cowboys listed nine players on their injury report. Some limited notables were wide receivers Tavon Austin and Cole Beasley as well as linebacker Sean Lee. Defensive lineman David Irving was sidelined with an ankle injury.
