The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has promoted defensive tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter to the active roster from the practice squad.
Ledbetter (6-3, 295) has spent this season on Tampa Bay's practice squad. Ledbetter originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick (205th overall) of the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 games for Detroit in 2017, recording 14 tackles, a half sack and a blocked field goal. A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Ledbetter played collegiately at Arkansas. He wears No. 78 for Tampa Bay.
The team also announced that defensive ends Farrington Huguenin (pronounced: HEW-guh-nin) and Alec James have been signed to the practice squad.
Huguenin (6-4, 268) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2016. He spent the 2016 offseason and preseason with Miami before being waived. He was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2017 offseason and spent the 2017 season on the team's practice squad. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the Steelers and was on Pittsburgh's practice squad for the first 13 weeks of this season. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Farrington played collegiately at Kentucky. He will wear No. 95 for Tampa Bay.
James (6-3, 272) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Arizona Cardinals following the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the Cardinals and spent time on Arizona's practice squad this season. A native of Brookfield, Wisconsin, James played collegiately at Wisconsin. He will wear No. 75 for Tampa Bay.
