The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has promoted safety Godwin Igwebuike (pronounced “ig-why-BYU-kay”) from the practice squad to the active roster and waived defensive end Demone Harris.
Igwebuike (6-0, 212) has spent the season on Tampa Bay’s practice squad. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers this past offseason, spending the offseason and preseason with Tampa Bay. Igwebuike, a native of Pickerington, Ohio, played collegiately at Northwestern, where he earned consecutive Second-Team All-Big Ten honors as a junior and senior. He wears No. 34 for the Buccaneers.
