The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today promoted wide receiver Jaydon Mickens from the practice squad to the active roster.

Mickens (5-11, 170) was elevated for Tampa Bay's Week 1 game vs. Dallas, returning three kickoffs for a combined 92 yards (30.7 avg.) and two punts for 21 yards (10.5 avg.). Mickens has appeared in 12 regular season games over the past three seasons with the Buccaneers (2018-20), contributing primarily on special teams where he has returned 18 punts for 120 yards (6.7 avg.) and 17 kickoffs for 432 yards (25.4 avg.). He has also added seven receptions for 58 yards offensively during the regular season. Mickens' 222 kickoff return yards during Tampa Bay's run to a Super Bowl LV victory set a new franchise record for a single postseason.

Prior to joining the Buccaneers in 2018, Mickens spent two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2017-18). He has played in 28 career NFL games since entering the league as a college free agent with the Raiders in 2016. The Los Angeles native played collegiately at Washington and wears No. 85 for Tampa Bay.

The team's active roster now stands at 53 players.
