BUCCANEERS RE-SIGN PAIR OF FREE AGENTS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today re-signed linebacker Kevin Minter and defensive lineman Rakeem Nuñez-Roches. As per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Minter (6-0, 246) has appeared in 37 regular season games, making three starts, for the Buccaneers over the past three seasons since originally signing with the team in October of 2018. During that time, Minter has notched 48 tackles (three for loss), three passes defensed, two quarterback hits, 1.0 sack and one fumble recovery.

The ninth-year veteran originally entered the league as a second-round selection (45th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years of his career with the Cardinals (2013-16) and spent the 2017 season with the Cincinnati Bengals before joining Tampa Bay in 2018. Over his NFL career, Minter has amassed 299 tackles (25 for loss), 18 quarterback hits, 6.0 sacks, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 107 career games.

Minter has played in six career playoff games, making three starts, including Tampa Bay's Wild Card win over Washington on Jan. 9. In his postseason career, Minter has tallied 11 tackles (two for loss) and one pass defensed.

A native of Suwanee, Georgia, Minter played collegiately at Louisiana State.

Nuñez-Roches (6-0, 246) played in all 16 regular season games for the Buccaneers in 2020, including 11 as a starter, recording 20 tackles and three quarterback hits.

He started all four postseason games for Tampa Bay on the team's run to a Super Bowl LV victory, making three tackles and recording one quarterback hit. He previously played in one other postseason game, which came as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016.

Since entering the league as a sixth-round selection (No. 217 overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft by Kansas City, Nuñez-Roches has amassed 82 tackles (six for loss), eight quarterback hits and one fumble recovery over 69 career games, including 27 starts. He spent his first three seasons with the Chiefs (2015-17) before playing his next three with Tampa Bay (2018-20). A native of Dangriga, Belize, Nuñez-Roches played collegiately at Southern Mississippi.
