Linebacker Shaquil Barrett

Wide Receiver Mike Evans

Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III

Linebacker Shaquil Barrett

(On learning from veteran pass-rushers with the Denver Broncos)

"It was a big advantage. My first year I was on practice squad [and] I learned so much from everybody who was on the [team]. It was Von [Miller], D-Ware (DeMarcus Ware), a backup guy, Lerenteé [McCray] – everybody was teaching and I was learning from everybody. It helped me out a lot. I honestly don't know if my career would be in the same spot if I didn't go to Denver and learn from all of those guys because it really helped me out a lot."

(On joining the Buccaneers on a one-year contract)

"Just from last year, I didn't play as much, so I knew I wasn't going to be getting anything crazy, so just to prove my worth is all I want to do. I'm going to bet on myself 100 percent of the time. I'm going to go out there, do my job and everybody's going to see why I came here. Hopefully we can turn it into a multi-year contract. I'm just ready and excited. I'm happy they gave me the opportunity. I'm going to take advantage of it and run with it."

(On playing in a 3-4 defense)

"I love the 3-4. I've been in 3-4 pretty much my whole career, except one year in college. I've been comfortable with it for a long time. Then just having the pass rushers who can also play the run game and who can also cover on the edge, set the edge of the defense – it just gives us so much more that we can do on the inside with blitzes and with safeties coming down and everything. I just love the scheme a lot. Coach [Todd] Bowles, I talked to him a couple of times, he showed me some of the stuff that he's been working on and drawing up when I did the visit. It's going to be some fun. It's going to be a lot of fun this year."

Wide Receiver Mike Evans

(On his impressions of the new coaching staff)

"All positive. I like them so far and I'm going to continue to like them. I'm not a guy that has a problem with coaches. A lot of coaches coach differently and I like all different types of styles. Coach [Kevin] Garver was great today, as well as Coach Bruce."

(On what excites him the most about Coach Arians)

"That he just wants to win, just like me, so we have that in common. That's the main thing in this business – we all want to win and he's going to push us and hopefully lead us in that direction."

(On how confident he is in the team's depth at wide receiver)

"I was out there now [on the field] looking at the guys we've still got – [there are] a lot of the pieces we had last year. We lost D-Jack [DeSean Jackson] and Hump {Adam Humphries] – big blows for us, but we have a lot of playmakers. We already had a lot of playmakers before at the tight end position and the running back position and then we've got Breshad [Perriman] and then the draft's coming up, so we're going to be one of the best receiver groups in the league again this year, no doubt about that. Just looking forward to it. Couple new guys but the same goal."

(On quarterback Jameis Winston's scrambling ability and the importance of the offense not being afraid to make mistakes)

"I mean, it will help. I have no fear, none of that. I love Jameis' improv skills because you can't defend that, really. I guess [defenders have] got to just run to the receivers when the quarterback's out of the pocket but that's hard to do when a guy can go any way when the quarterback's running. It's hard to guard a scramble drill so the more he does that, it's harder to stop."

Cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III

(On how well he feels that he fits in the coaching staff's defense)

"It's everything that I do. It's kind of like taking me back to college. It's that same scheme – blitz the quarterback, man-to-man on the outside and let's get after it."

(On the message from the coaching staff)

"This isn't a restart. This isn't a rebuild. This isn't an, 'Alright, let's take a year and see what we've got.' This is a win now. If you don't want to win, then you can go. There are a lot of other teams out there."

(On Head Coach Bruce Arians' attitude)

"Straight to the point. That's how it should be. He's going to tell you how it is and if you don't like it, then oh well. If you like it, then you'll like him."

(On having a coach like Arians who supports his players)

"It's like having a parent telling you, 'Good job. You're doing good. Come on, you've got it. Keep going.' It's like that authoritative figure, that father figure almost-type telling you that you've got it, you can do it, you don't need anybody else. It's just confidence. It makes us all feel better. It makes everybody feel better when the head man believes in everybody."
