Head Coach Dirk Koetter

Quarterback Jameis Winston

Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy

Head Coach Dirk Koetter

(On the biggest difference in the Falcons from the first time they faced them to now)

"They've just got new faces. They have new faces due to injury, guys coming back. Two of their best players on defense missed our first game. They've got new faces, we've got new faces. Of all of our division games, this is the furthest apart on both sides. When I first put the tape on and started watching them, there were quite a few guys that I had to look at a roster to see who exactly they were."

(On the development of wide receiver Justin Watson)

"Justin's biggest issue right now is he's just behind a lot of talented guys. He works his tail off in practice – a very hard-working guy. It's just tough to get him game time because of the four guys that he's behind. Bobo Wilson has kind of emerged here late in the year as a return guy. Justin has gotten most of his work on special teams. He's working hard on the scout team. I do think that he's got a future, but [wide receiver] is just one of our deepest positions."

(On how hard it is to develop younger players in the NFL)

"I think just the way the NFL works, the main way you develop your young guys besides preseason and practice – offseason has been changed a lot. Once you get to the season, it's basically by necessity. Sometimes you're just out of people and they've got to play – your guys are your guys. Then they play. They either sink or swim at that point. Where in college – like I said – you have more lopsided games where the fourth quarter, ahead or behind, you're playing your other guys. The system is what it is. You just have to deal with it. It's not going to change."

(On what wide receiver Bobo Wilson has done well)

"He had three really nice plays on special team just last week. He had two returns past the 30 [yard line] and he had a kickoff [tackle] inside the 20 – beautiful tackle. I think that's his third. He's only been on kickoff. Three games and he's got three tackles covering kickoff. He would be the next punt returner after Hump (Adam Humphries) right now. He's our kickoff returner and we had two of our best ones of the year last week. Bobo, he's got juice to him. The guy's got some speed. He kind of got his main opportunity when DeSean [Jackson] was out as kind of a speed guy. He's done a good job. He's held his own in there."

(On if quarterback Jameis Winston has improved on keeping his composure)

"Yes. Yes, I do."

(On how the team stays motivated)

"It's the same for both teams. We're in the same situation the Falcons are in. These guys are all pros. These guys [are] all getting paid to do a job and they're always being evaluated whether it be by me or by the GM (Jason Licht) or by ownership or by other teams around the league. I don't think you can ever let your guard down in the NFL."

(On who would replace defensive end Carl Nassib if he wasn't able to play on Sunday)

"It'd be between Vinny Curry and Will Gholston – a combination of those two guys."

(On the ESPN report about wide receiver DeSean Jackson and a situation after the 49ers game)

"I haven't seen it, so I'm not going to comment on something that I haven't seen. Something that has happened after the 49ers game, I'm not even really sure what we're talking about, so I'm not going to say anything about it."

(On his relationship with Jackson)

"DeSean Jackson is a proven outstanding player in this league. I'm a coach and he's a player. I think our relationship is fine. That's all there really is to say about it."

Quarterback Jameis Winston

(On the way his leadership has changed)

"My competitiveness isn't different at all. I think you can lead in different ways. I think people receive messages differently. Initially talking to people – my peers that are the same age that I am – it's easier to get guys riled up and kind of get them to match that level of intensity with you. These are grown men. For the most part, if we're getting paid to be professionals and do our job, if a rah-rah speech or some magnificent 20 words said in a pregame speech – if that's the magical thing to get us going and winning – I'd be happy to do that. There's 53 guys in there that can tell you right now they've been playing this game for a long time and no particular speech can get them to go out there and perform better on the football field."

(On how his leadership has evolved)

"One thing, which started in training camp, it allowed me to kind of take a back seat and have more conversations with some of the men I was playing with. When they were off the field either I was getting scout team reps or second-string reps. It allowed me to actually be kind of a coach back there. I think after the weeks that I was suspended it allowed me to even grow into more of a coach. Just my understanding and the respect that I have for those men that are around me, it kind of grew. It gave me a higher appreciation for the jobs that they did. It really allowed me to see how everything comes together for the greater good. I think that's how my leadership has grown. For the most part, just the respect of every position."

Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy

(On if going into the offseason with a win gives momentum for next season)

"Yeah, you never want to go in the offseason with a loss. You just remember it's the last feeling you've got. It's always a positive going to the offseason with a win regardless of what happens after that."

(On if the team still has fight in them)

"Yeah, we're always going to fight. I don't think you ever look at film and say, 'Oh they're not playing hard,' or 'They don't care,' a person making a play doesn't determine whether they want it more than that other person. You look at the tape, you see everybody's playing hard. Getting time when we beat ourselves. We just can't allow that to happen. We've got one more opportunity with this group. Just make the most of it – that's just been my message. It's the last time this group will be together. We want this to be a stamp this year, something to remember. Just win the last game then move forward."
