BUCCANEERS SIGN FIVE TO FUTURES CONTRACTS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed quarterback Joe Callahan, defensive end Hunter Dimick, punter Hayden Hunt, linebacker Corey Nelson and long snapper Zach Triner to future contracts:

Callahan (6-1, 216) is a native of Abescon, New Jersey, and played collegiately at Wesley College (Dover, Delaware). Callahan originally entered the league with the Green Bay Packers in 2016, spending the offseason and preseason with Green Bay. Callahan spent time during the 2016 season on the active roster with Green Bay, the Cleveland Browns and the New Orleans Saints. He re-joined Green Bay at the end of the 2016 season and spent time during the 2017 season on the Packers' practice squad and active roster, appearing in one game. Callahan spent time during the 2018 offseason with Green Bay and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dimick (6-3, 268) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017. He spent the offseason and preseason with Jacksonville and spent the 2017 regular season on the Jaguars' practice squad. He spent the 2018 offseason and preseason with Jacksonville, before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. A native of Syracuse, Utah, Dimick played collegiately at Utah.

Hunt (5-11, 196) is a native of Long Beach, California, and played collegiately at Colorado State (2013-16).

Nelson (6-1, 226) originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick (242nd overall) of the Denver Broncos in the 2014 NFL Draft. Nelson spent four seasons with Denver (2014-17), appearing in 54 games, with five starts, recording 88 tackles (three for loss), six passes defensed, one sack and 18 special teams tackles. Nelson spent the 2018 offseason and preseason with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in one game for the Atlanta Falcons during the 2018 season. A Dallas native, Nelson played collegiately at Oklahoma.

Triner (6-3, 245) spent the 2018 offseason and preseason with the Green Bay Packers, before being waived prior to the start of the regular season. He had previously spent time during the 2017 offseason with the New York Jets. A native of Marshfield, Massachusetts, Triner played collegiately at Assumption College (Worcester, Massachusets).
