Buccaneers Sign S Darian Stewart

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has signed safety Darian Stewart.

Stewart (5-11, 214) is entering his 10th NFL season, appearing in 130 games over his career, including 91 starts. The former South Carolina product has recorded 439 total tackles (21 for loss), 11 interceptions (returned for 99 yards, one touchdown), seven fumble recoveries, six forced fumbles and 5.0 sacks over his NFL career.

He spent the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos (2015-18), including winning Super Bowl 50. Stewart earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2016, notching career bests with 68 total tackles and three interceptions, while starting in all 16 games.

Stewart originally entered the league as a college free agent, joining the then St. Louis Rams in 2010. He spent four seasons in St. Louis before signing on with the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. Stewart has appeared in five career playoff games between Denver and Baltimore, tallying 13 total tackles, five passes defensed, two interceptions, one forced fumble and 1.0 sack.  

The Huntsville, Alabama native will wear No. 27 for Tampa Bay.

The team also announced that defensive lineman Dare Odeyingbo has been waived. Tampa Bay's roster stands at 90.
