Head Coach Bruce Arians Media Availability - Friday, November 15, 2019

*Head Coach Bruce Arians                              *

(Opening statement)

"Out for this ball game [will be] Carl Nassib, Anthony Nelson and M.J. Stewart. [It has] been a really good week of preparation. It's a heck of an opponent, and [I'm] looking really forward to the ball game."

(On CB Carlton Davis III's status)

"I think he'll be ready to go."

(On how much of a help it will be to have Davis back in the secondary)

"It's a big help. He's our best corner and to have him back out there – he looked real good today, so it will give us a good mix of all our guys."

(On the ending of the Thursday night game between the Browns and Steelers)

"There's no place for fighting in this game. Whether it's at practice, intersquad practices [or] in games – there's just no place for it. We don't condone it. I know both of those coaches very well – they don't condone it. It's a shame it happened. It's a very heated rivalry, but for it to happen at the end of the game like that, I thought it was a shame."

(On what it is about AFC North matchups that tends to bring out extracurricular incidents)

"I think it's just they're all good teams and they've been fighting it for a long time. But, there's no place for that in this game."

(On if he believes QB Colin Kaepernick can play in the NFL again)

"I think in the right system. Obviously, there's a system in Baltimore [and] Greg Roman was his coordinator. He was that style of player. But, I think [he can play] in the right system. But, he's 32 now with a bad shoulder, so it's a big difference than Lamar Jackson."

(On who the Buccaneers will be sending to Kaepernick's tryout)

"Just one of our scouts."

(On what it will take to increase the attendance at Raymond James Stadium)

"Winning – I've seen it over and over and over. Winning brings back the fans and we've had our chances. Hopefully, we can continue and get them back here for December."

(On how much easier it was to correct mistakes after a win)

"I always say you learn so much more by almost losing than you do losing. It's just a different attitude in the building. Players accept coaching – they don't take it as criticism – more so after a win."

(On what the young defensive backs did to prepare this week)

"More – I think they all saw what [effect it has]. Like Todd [Bowles] said, 'I had too many in my office, I didn't have enough furniture.' So, I had to move down to the DB room this morning.'"

(On how G Alex Cappa has progressed since returning from an arm injury)

"He's getting back in the swing. He struggled there a little bit, like anybody would with that arm, but he's getting back full speed [and is] ready to go."

(On the timing of CB Vernon Hargreaves III being waived)

"I have nothing to say about Vernon."

(On if any of the players who were placed on injured reserve before the season have a chance to return)

"Blaine [Gabbert] – no for sure. I doubt Zack [Bailey] is either."

(On if S Justin Evans has a chance to return this season)

"No, he's having his other foot operated on after he rehabs this one."

(On ILB Lavonte David being nominated for the 2019 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award)

"Knowing Mr. Rooney, there's no better representative. If Lavonte was the guy that wins it, he was well deserving."

(On if he uses David as an example for younger players coming into the league)

"There's no doubt. We have a bunch of guys like that, but Lavonte for sure."

(On if David is able to do more in a 3-4 defense than a 4-3)

"He's always been a stack-type backer, but to be able to blitz from the outside [or] inside and do all the things – we played much more man, which is what he's great at. I think it allows him to be a more sideline-to-sideline guy."
