Head Coach Bruce Arians
(Opening statement)
"Out for the game [will be] Devin White, Jamel Dean, Blaine Gabbert and Devante Bond. We've got a couple game-time decisions, but those guys are definitely out. [It was a] really, really good week of practice. We're getting to where we like having this extra day and pretty soon we'll go back to a normal week, but it's helped us the first two ball games."
(On if the injuries will allow for players who have been healthy scratches to play)
"Yeah, we'll see who's active [and] who's inactive, but Demone [Harris] will definitely be up for special teams and that outside backer spot. I'm still deciding on who's going to go down and who's going to go up."
(On if there are ways to adapt to the increase in penalties called this season)
"It is a challenge. You try to coach it by the rules – that's why I hired Larry [Rose]. We show videos of our own penalties every week and what this crew will call and how they call it, and give our team as big a scouting report on the officials as much as we do the other team."
(On how much Officiating Consultant Larry Rose has helped)
"He's amazing. He's talking to the guys, he's in-tune to what's being called, how it's being called [and] the new mechanics of what they're looking at, so it's great, because I can't keep up with it."
(On if he would like to see the receivers get more separation)
"I wasn't as pleased the first week as I was the second, but that's something we continue to grow and get better at."
(On if WR Breshad Perriman will be a game-time decision)
"Yeah, he could be."
(On how much getting Perriman going can help open up other parts of the offense)
"A bunch. We had him open a couple times [and] didn't quite get him. That would've been a great catch [at Carolina] – because he's made some great catches in practice – but I'd like to see him make that one in the end zone. It was a really tough catch but a great throw. So, yeah, we just keep throwing it to him, making opportunities for him. We don't force the ball to anybody, but when he's there, we've got to find him."
(On if the chemistry between Perriman and QB Jameis Winston is where he wants it to be)
"It has been. It was great all spring and that was the first one we've really underthrown him. I think he overthrew him one time, so it was kind of a, 'I'm not going to overthrow this time.' It's a growing process."
(On if it can be harder for a quarterback to develop chemistry with a fast receiver)
"Not really, because he practices so hard. All those receivers practice so hard, so we're getting full-speed reps all the time, so it shouldn't be a problem."
(On if Perriman's speed can help open up the underneath throws for Winston)
"Yeah, they're going to defend that stuff."
