Head Coach Bruce Arians

(Opening Statement)

"Again, I like the change of scenery, coming at night now. This is kind of [how] Carolina week [will be]. We'll go three nights in a row to get ready for Carolina week. This one was a little raggedy. [There was] some really, really good stuff and some poor stuff. I thought we dropped way too many passes. I thought our receivers were – they weren't even out there other than Mike Evans. But, I loved the ebb and flow of it because the offense came back and won that drill at 19 seconds with no timeouts. We didn't win the second one, so it was a good ebb and flow of offense versus defense and back and forth."

(On what he's seen from S D'Cota Dixon)

"[He is] smart [and] tough. [He's] really got a chance to make this team."

(On the quarterbacks not being able to get into a rhythm)

"You can't when everybody drops the ball. We dropped more passes – tight ends and receivers – today than we have all year."

(On if the team is beginning to cut down on mental errors)

"Yeah, we missed the blitz at the end. It was cover zero and they didn't cover the halfback, which, that ball should've went to the halfback down the sideline. It was something new. It was a brand-new play. [We] didn't quite have all the nuances of it learned yet. But, yeah, the M.E. (mental errors) sheet is coming way down."

(On K Matt Gay's performance so far in training camp)

"I'm not jinxing it. He's doing good."

(On how far Gay can kick a field goal)

"In here? Probably 70 [yards]. Cairo [Santos] hit one outside with the wind 57 the other day, but that was a 30-mile-an-hour wind at his back. In here, it's been around 50."

(On how he feels about the team's depth at the tackle position)

"Right now, we're still building. We're still looking. Guys are having good days and bad days. We need some leveling off – good all the time."

(On if CB Vernon Hargreaves III can be a lock-down cornerback)

"I think we have four of them. Vernon is one of them, but Carlton (Davis III) had a great interception on the other side playing press-man and both those young guys (Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting) are coming. And, M.J. [Stewart] is starting to pick it back up at corner. He's not going to follow people – we're going to play right and left. We've got enough guys [that] we don't have to follow people around."

(On working the young defensive backs into the scheme)

"We're playing to their strengths. That's (why) we drafted those two young ones (Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting). That is what the other two (Vernon Hargeaves III and Carlton Davis III) played the best in college, so the defense fits their strengths."

(On if it is harder to get a pre-snap read against a 3-4 defense)

"Totally, you'd never know which four of those guys is coming. In a four-down line, you know who's coming and it's pretty easy."

(On how set he is on having QB Blaine Gabbert serve as the backup quarterback to Jameis Winston)

"There's nothing written in stone, but he's pretty solid."

(On if DB M.J. Stewart is the front-runner for the nickel cornerback spot)

"Sean [Murphy-Bunting] is in there too. They're rotating. It'll be a good battle."

(On RB Dare Ogunbowale)

"He's doing fantastic. [He's] got really good vision [and] good blitz pick-up. He's really impressing us."

(On if Ogunbowale could play a role on special teams)

"Yeah, kickoff return and a core special teamer. He's going to be on everything."

(On splitting out the tight ends and putting more pressure on the tackles to protect the quarterback)

"Yeah, it's either four wide [receivers] or putting a tight end out there. We're not going to have them in there blocking. That's not their forte. They may chip. We'll help our tackles with chips, but people know how to take that away. Your tackles have to block."

(On limiting QB Jameis Winston's interceptions)

"He played extremely well in some ball games and then he would have an interception trying to fit a ball in that shouldn't have been fit in. This is the thing we have to eliminate."

(On if Winston's decision making in today's practice)

"Yeah, he made one [mistake]. He scrambled, he was across the line of scrimmage and he tried to throw it down there – just run the ball."

(On if he will have to utilize a rotation on the defensive line due to the heat in Tampa)

"Yeah, we want to create that anyway [even if] it's in a dome. We want to have fresh guys in there all the time."

(On if the team will practice at night prior to the Thursday Night Football game against Carolina)

"We will look at that. We aren't going to practice anyway. It will just be walk-throughs. So, whether we walk-though at night or not doesn't matter."
