LIVE RACE FAQs

1. What kind of surface is the race on?

a. Participants will be running/walking on both grass and concrete surfaces of varying terrain.

b. The 5K (3.1 mile) race is chip-timed and participants will receive a bib with a timing chip attached. The chip will begin timing once you cross the start line, recording your net time until you cross the finish line. The Fun Run is an untimed/unchipped event.

2. Will there be a race guide?

a. Yes. There will be a police officer directing all participants as well as course marshals throughout the race route.

3. How far is a 5K?

a. 5 Kilometers = 3.1 miles.

4. How much is parking?

a. Parking is free for the race only and will be available in Lot 2 at Raymond James Stadium and Publix Lot 14 at AdventHealth Training Center. You can enter Publix Lot 14 through the Himes Ave. gate up until 6:00 a.m. on race day or the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd./RV Lot. The main AdventHealth Training Center entrance at One Buccaneer Place will not be accessible. Parking lots will close at 6:45 a.m. Participants must have their vehicles parked by then.

b. All participants must present the parking pass given at packet pickup. If you pick your packet up the day of the race, you must use the parking pass included in the race day email.

c. All participants must depart either Lot 2 or Publix Lot 14 with their vehicle immediately following the event at 8:30 a.m. All vehicles that remain after 9:00 a.m. will be subject to removal.

d. Tailgating will not be permitted.

e. Parking lots will reopen for the game at 9:30 a.m. Season Pass Members must park in their regular parking lot for the game.

5. Does my registration include a ticket to the October 9 game vs. Atlanta?

a. Your registration does not include a ticket to the game. 6. Can I have my packet shipped to me?

a. All participants that are participating in the live race must pick up their packet in person.

7. What time does the race start?

a. The race will begin at 7:00 a.m. sharp with the first corral. After the first corral begins at 7:00 a.m., all other corrals will follow about 3 minutes apart from each other. Corrals were assigned based on expected mile time/bib number. Your bib will be color-coded based on what race wave you are in.

8. Will I be able to run/walk with a stroller?

a. Yes, but all strollers/joggers are encouraged to line up towards the back/last corral as not to impede on running traffic.

9. Can I bike/roller blade/scooter the course?

a. Bicycles, scooters, roller blades, and other forms of wheeled motorization are not permitted.

10. Can I run/walk with my pet?

a. Pets are not participated to run/walk with participants. Service animals are permitted.

11. How long will I have to run/walk the race?

a. All participants must complete the 5K course by 8:30 a.m. If participants complete the 5K at that time they must immediately return to their vehicle and vacate the parking lot. The parking lots need to be clear when it opens for the game at 9:30 a.m. 12. Can my friends or family come watch me run? a. Friends and family are permitted to watch the race.

b. Any spectators will need a pass to enter either Lot 2 at Raymond James Stadium or Publix Lot 14. The pass will need to be provided by the participant. Parking lots will close at 6:45 a.m. Spectators must have their vehicles parked by then.

c. All spectators must depart Lot 2 or Publix Lot 14 with their vehicle immediately following the event at 8:30 a.m. All vehicles that remain after 9:00 a.m. will be subject to removal.

d. Tailgating will not be permitted.

13. How is my time recorded?

a. The 5K is chip timed. Participants will receive a bib with a timing chip attached to it. The chip will begin timing once you cross the start line, recording your net time until you cross the finish line. The Fun Run is a non-competitive race and will not be chip timed.

14. Will water or food be provided before or after the race?

a. There will be water stations on the course and one at a post-race refreshment area in Victory Village. Fruit and will be provided to registered participants post-race in Victory Village.

15. Where can I use the restrooms?

a. On-site portable restrooms will be available near the start line and in Victory Village.

16. Is there a bag drop-off?

a. There will not be a bag drop-off. Please leave all your belongings locked safely in your car. If you are picking up your packet the morning of the race, please remember that you will need a photo ID, so allow yourself time to pick up your packet and return to your car if you do not wish to carry your ID during the race.

17. Are there water stops along the course?

a. Yes, we will have water stops along the course – one just after the 1-mile mark and one at approximately the 2.5-mile mark. Post-race water will also be available at the Finish Line and at the refreshment area in Victory Village.

18. Where will results be posted?

a. Results can be accessed at Kiosk stations by the finish line, by scanning the QR code located on your race bib and via an email sent to all registered participants after the race. Official results will be posted on www.buccaneers.com later in the day.

19. Who is the race benefiting?

a. A portion of the proceeds from the 10th Annual Tampa Bay Buccaneers Treasure Chests 5K and Fun Run powered by Jabil will benefit breast cancer research and patient services at AdventHealth Foundation, Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

20. What time is the awards ceremony

a. The awards ceremony is scheduled for approximately 8:00 a.m. on the stage located in Victory Village.

21. What categories will receive 5K race awards?

a. We will award the Overall Male, Overall Female, Male Master (40+ years old), Female Master (40+ years old), Male Grand Master (50+ years old), Female Grand Master (50+) and then the 1st and 2nd place males and females in the following age groups:
• 9 & Under
• 10 – 14
• 15 – 19
• 20 – 24
• 25 – 29
• 30 – 34
• 35 – 39
• 40 – 44
• 45 – 49
• 50 – 54
• 55 – 59
• 60 – 64
• 65 – 69
• 70 – 74
• 75 – 79
• 80 – 84

b. All participants will receive a custom finisher medal after they cross the finish line.

22. What happens if the live race is canceled?

a. If we are unable to hold a live race (for any reason, including due to COVID-19) the race will still take place in a virtual format. Registrations are not refundable or transferrable in such event. The net proceeds will be directed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation in support of breast cancer research and patient services.

PACKET PICKUP FAQs

1. When is packet pick-up?
a. Packet pick-up will take place on Thursday, October 6, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 7, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. in the Buccaneers Team Store located at Raymond James Stadium. Parking will be available in Lot D. The entrance to Lot D can be accessed off Tampa Bay Blvd. and Dale Mabry Hwy.

2. Will I be able to pick up my packet the day of the race?

a. Yes. There will be a packet pick-up station open from 5:00 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. It is highly recommended to pick up your packet in advance, as lines will be long on race day. We will still hand out packets if you arrive after 6:30 a.m. However, we cannot guarantee you will receive prior to the 7:00 a.m. race start.

3. What do I need to bring to packet pick-up?

a. A driver's license or form of ID is required to pick up packets.

4. Can someone else pick-up my packet for me?

a. Yes. If someone else picks up your packet, they will need to bring the authorization form saying that you allow them to pick up your packet. The authorization form can be downloaded at www.buccaneers.com/authorization

b. A waiver needs to be completed by each participant prior to packets being released. The waiver was included as part of the registration process. If you are picking up for someone else, make sure they already signed their waiver or log onto www.buccaneers.com/tc5kwaiver and fill out before arriving. We WILL NOT be able to release a packet without a signed waiver. Please make sure to use your race registration number which is located on your confirmation email.

VIRTUAL FAQs

1. Why are you still having a virtual race?

a. There was overwhelming response from Buccaneers fans outside Tampa Bay.

2. How do I register?

a. You can register by clicking the RunSignup link on the Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run page on Buccaneers.com.

3. What is the last day to register?

a. You have until Friday, October 7 to register. b. To receive your packet in time for the run, you must be registered by Friday, September 23.

4. Can I pick my packet up in-person?

a. All virtual participants will have their packet shipped to the address they included at registration

5. When can I run or walk the Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run?

a. The race starts Sunday, October 9 for both in-person and virtual participants. This way, all Buccaneer fans can support the cause at the same time at AdventHealth Training Center and around the country. Virtual participants have until Sunday, October 16 to run or walk.

6. How does a virtual run/walk work?

a. The Virtual Race means you complete the 5K (3.1 miles) in your local area anytime between October 9-16, 2022. After you complete your 5K race, share your virtual experience with us on social media using our hashtag #BucsTC5K! With the virtual race, you are responsible for your own safety. Please do not run on unsafe roads, or areas that have been closed off to the public. Obey the rules of traffic. Please follow all requirements set forth by local, state, and federal authorities.

7. I have family and friends who don't live in Florida, can they participate in the Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run?

a. "Yes! We would love to have them register as they can run wherever they live." This is a great opportunity for Bucs fans to engage and support the cause. The Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run is only open to registrants with a valid U.S. address. We cannot ship outside the U.S.

8. Will I still receive a packet?

a. Yes. All our packets will be mailed. If you sign up by September 23, you should receive your tshirt and bib in time to wear it for the race. A finisher medal will be included in your packet. Packets should start shipping around September 27 and take approximately 7-9 business days to arrive in the United States. If registering AFTER September 23, we cannot guarantee you will receive your packet prior to the start on October 9, but we will mail them out within approximately one week of registering. The Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run is only open to registrants with a valid U.S. address. We cannot ship outside the U.S.

9. Will my bib have a chip?

a. With a virtual event, we are unable to use chip timing.

10. Can you ship internationally?

a. At this time, the Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run is only open to registrants with a valid U.S. address. We cannot ship outside the U.S.

11. Does my registration include a ticket to the October 9 game vs. Atlanta?

a. Your registration does not include a ticket to the game.

12. I signed up for the virtual race but changed my mind and want to participate in-person. How can I change my registration?

a. If you prefer to participate in the live race, please contact us at treasurechestsrace@buccaneers.nfl.com.

13. Will there be awards (overall and age group) given in the virtual race?

a. Unfortunately, no. With a virtual event we are unable to use chip timing and the course that each participant chooses to run is unique with differing conditions.

14. Can I run the official course on my own after October 9?

a. Unfortunately, no. The race route goes around and through restricted areas and parking lots that are not open.
