Started all 17 regular season games at center, contributing to an offensive line that yielded the fewest sacks in the league and protected the league's second-ranked passing offense.

Made his first career start at center in the season opener at Dallas, contributing to an offensive line that manufactured 152 rushing yards and 4.6 yards per carry.

Started at center in Week 2 at New Orleans and was part of an offensive line that yielded just one sack on 34 dropbacks.

As a senior in 2020, was named Team Captain, Senior Class first-team All-American and second-team All-ACC, while finishing as a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award and was part of an offensive line that finished as a finalist for the Joe Moore Award, given annually to the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit.

Started all 12 games in 2020, en route to the Fighting Irish's berth in the College Football Playoff.

In 2019, started the first eight games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury. Named team captain, Notre Dame Offensive Lineman of the Year and was part of the offensive line named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll.

Started all 13 games as a sophomore in 2018.

As a freshman (2017), saw action in all 13 games, with one start, as part of the Notre Dame offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award. The Fighting Irish offense ranked seventh in the FBS in rushing yards per game (269.3 avg.), establishing school records for rushing yards (3,503) and yards per carry (6.3 avg.).
