John Ross Breaks 40-Yard Dash Record

Posted Mar 4, 2017

Washington WR John Ross ran a 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday, breaking Chris Johnson's record.

Washington wide receiver John Ross is officially the fastest player in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine. On Saturday, Ross was clocked running the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds, breaking Chris Johnson’s long-standing record of 4.24 seconds. NFL analysts Albert Breer tweeted that Ross was clocked as fast as 4.19 by scouts in attendance.

Ross is a player many draft analysts believe the Buccaneers could be in the market for. In this week’s Mock Draft Roundup, he was projected to Tampa Bay by four different writers. Ross caught 81 passes for 1,150 yards and 17 touchdowns for Washington in 2016 and is universally considered to be a first-round pick. To watch his 40-yard dash, click the video above.
