Biography
Darcie Glazer Kassewitz is a leader and driving force behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' commitment to innovation, forward-thinking fan engagement and community impact. Overseeing the day-to-day operations in this work, she has galvanized the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to become nationally recognized leaders in expanding opportunities for women in football and for expanding pathways for coaches striving to break into the NFL.

Empowering Women in Sports
Through her dedication to innovative programming, Kassewitz launched "She is Football" in 2025, an annual campaign celebrating female fans and raising funds to help keep girls in sports. The inaugural "She is Football weekend" was a sold-out success attracting thousands featuring a women's career summit, girls flag football tournament, 5K run, walk & stroll, and a marketplace spotlighting female owned businesses.
Since 2015, Kassewitz has been leading efforts to deepen the Buccaneers connection with their fan base. She launched Women of Red, a pioneering program focused on enhancing the fan experience for women. Women of Red was deemed "the tipping point for a genuine connection to fans," attracting thousands of women and providing exclusive access to players, alumni, and executives. Under her stewardship, she has continued to expand the teams programming for women and girls including:
- The Women's Summit for Careers in Football
- The She is Football Collegiate Scholarship, the first academic college scholarship for girls who play football
- Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic, the largest event of its kind in the U.S. featuring over 109 teams and 2,100 athletes annually
- @BuccaneersFlag Instagram dedicated to thousands of flag football athletes in the region
Creating Pathways for Coaches
Kassewitz launched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Coaching Academy in 2024, a groundbreaking program to create new pathways and entry points for coaches seeking their first opportunity to work in the NFL. The ambitious and pioneering academy held at the Buccaneers training facility delivers candidates an intensive curriculum with full participation in Buccaneers rookie minicamp. Out of thousands of global applicants, 25 finalists were awarded full scholarships to participate. Five standout finalists were selected upon completion to advance into training camp and preseason to work alongside coaches and scouts.
Civic and Cultural Contributions
The Glazer family's long-standing commitment to children and families led to not only the opening of both the Glazer Children's Museum in 2010, named one of the the Top 10 museums in the country and now a cornerstone institution in downtown Tampa but also in 2020, the Glazer Family Playground at the St. Petersburg Pier, a signature 26 acre waterfront destination with over 2.5 million visitors each year.
Youth, Education and Community Impact
In times of crisis, the Glazer family has been a steadfast supporter of the community. To assist in the Covid-19 pandemic, the Glazer family provided 5 million meals through a donation to Feeding Tampa Bay, the largest donation of meals at the time. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the Glazers donated millions to support local relief efforts.
Due to the family's longstanding belief in the small business community, Kassewitz spearheaded the creation of the Glazer Family Small Business Fund, a grant program supporting nearly 300 small businesses in Tampa Bay and West Central Florida.
In 2018, in support of Buccaneers players, the Glazer Family Player Matching Fund was created to honor and support players charitable donations and to invest in their charitable organizations throughout the region.
In 2024, the Glazers continued their commitment to children via the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation by partnering with Hillsborough County Public Schools to install 135 outdoor shade covers and covered courts at all elementary schools. Through the Jr. Bucs School Program, nearly 200,000 students in 300 elementary and middle schools across the Tampa Bay receive access to wellness resources and fitness programming. On game-days, through the Krewe Student Athletes program, access to academic incentives were created for over 24,000 students who have been hosted at Buccaneers games.
Health and Vision Care
As Chair of the Glazer Vision Foundation, Kassewitz has helped ensure access to essential eye care for underserved children. Through the Mobile Vision Clinic, the Foundation has performed more than 200,000 free eye screenings and distributed over 20,000 pairs of prescription eyeglasses.
In 2025, the Foundation launched "Lets See!", an interactive bilingual exhibit at the Glazer Children's Museum that immerses children in the science of sight while highlighting the importance of vision health.
Her broader efforts to support families include leadership in the Glazer Family Foundation's investment in affordable housing, food insecurity and closing disparities in education. Through a multi-million-dollar gift to the AdventHealth Foundation, the family is also helping to improve healthcare in Tampa Bay.
Kassewitz's influence on the design of many of the signature spaces enjoyed by Buccaneers fans and players helped elevate the team's business headquarters and training facility. She helped spearhead the interior design of the AdventHealth Training Center which features in-depth exhibits that tell the story of the franchise, including an original sculpture titled "The Moment of Victory" which depicts the moment the team won its first World Championship in Super Bowl XXXVII. Additionally instrumental in the planning and design of the Buccaneers' 100,000-square-foot indoor practice facility it features more than 3,000 seats for fans to enjoy training camp practices and was debuted in 2018.
Under nearly three decades of the Glazer family's stewardship, the Buccaneers have logged 11 playoff appearances, seven division titles, two NFC Championships and are two time Super Bowl champions in both Super Bowl XXXVII (2002), and Super Bowl LV (2020).
Kassewitz is a member of the NFL's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the NFL's Future of Football Committee. She is on the Board of Trustees of the Women's Sports Foundation, established in 1974 by Billie Jean King that has invested over $100 million to expand access and opportunities for girls and women in sports and has served as Co-Chairwoman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Kassewitz serves on the Board of the Manchester United Soccer Club, which has captured six titles since the Glazer family took over the club: five Premier League titles (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 and 2013), as well as the 2008 Champions League title.
Kassewitz graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from American University in 1990 and earned her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School in 1993. Kassewitz and her husband, Joel, reside in Tampa.
