The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has signed right tackle Luke Goedeke to a multi-year contract extension.
Goedeke has started 38-of-41 career games for the Buccaneers since being selected in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, in addition to starting all four of Tampa Bay's postseason contests over that span. Since assuming the starting right tackle position prior to the 2023 season, Goedeke has helped anchor an offensive line that ranks in the top 10 in points per game (25.0), total yards per game (356.3), yards per play (5.7), passing yards per game (237.3), net yards per pass attempt (7.1), third-down conversion rate (46.0%), fourth-down conversion rate (65.6%), and time of possession (30:43) over that span.
"Luke has proven himself to be one of the most reliable linemen in the league and a cornerstone for our offensive line," said Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht. "He has consistently matched up against top competition and played a key part in our record-setting offense last season. Securing Luke for the future ensures stability at a critical position as we continue to invest in protecting our quarterback and maintaining balance in both the run and pass game."
Goedeke played 1,027 snaps in 2024, contributing to an offense that established franchise single-season records in completion percentage (71.5%), passer rating (106.8), rushing yards (2,536), yards per rush (5.3), and third-down conversion rate (50.9%). According to Pro Football Focus, Goedeke ranked as the eighth-highest graded right tackle in the NFL last season (minimum 1,000 snaps). Next Gen Stats credited him with a 7.7% quarterback pressure rate allowed, the sixth-lowest mark among all right tackles (minimum 500 pass block snaps).
Since entering the league, Goedeke has blocked for an offense that produced two of the top three highest single-season completion percentages in franchise history (2022, 2024), while also contributing to the Buccaneers leading the NFC in rushing yards in 2024.
A native of Whitelaw, Wisconsin, Goedeke played collegiately at Central Michigan University, where he earned First-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors in 2021 before declaring for the draft.
