Acquired By Bucs: 

Selected in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers.

 

2016 Highlights:

Inactive Played in 14 games on special teams, including 10 kickoff returns for 169 yards (16.9 avg.). 

Weeks 1-2.

Made NFL debut vs. Los Angeles (9/25).

Served as primary kick returner for the first time, vs. Denver (10/2).

Played on 12 special teams snaps in win at Carolina (10/10).

Played in 16 special teams snaps in win at San Francisco (10/23).

Registered a career-long 24-yard kickoff return vs. Oakland (10/30).

Recorded one kickoff return for 22 yards in win at Kansas City (11/20).

Averaged 21.0 yards on two kickoff returns in 14-5 win vs. Seattle (11/27).

With Buccaneers leading 16-11 in the fourth quarter, kept a Tampa Bay punt from going into the end zone with a leaning save at the goal line, which was downed at the one-yard line.

Set a school record for solo tackles (168) and kickoff return yard average (28.1). 

Voted second-team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) as both a defensive back and a kick returner, after recording 52 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 11 passes defensed and two interceptions, to go along with 14 kickoff returns for 394 yards with one touchdown.

His 11 passes defensed were third in the MEAC, while his 28.1 yards per kick return led the conference and ranked 10th in the FCS.

As a redshirt junior (2014), started all 12 games, registering 58 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, seven passes defensed and one fumble recovery.

Started all 12 games as a redshirt sophomore (2013), tallying 88 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, five passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one blocked kick.

Selected to the College Sports Journal FCS Freshman All-America team, following his redshirt freshman season (2012), when he notched 65 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, four fumble recoveries and three interceptions.

Led the MEAC and tied for second among FCS leaders with four fumble recoveries.

Named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording six tackles, three passes defensed and an interceptions in a win at Savannah State (9/22/12).

In December 2016, visited patients battling illness at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg to raise their spirits during the holidays. 

In December 2016, congratulated Pizzo Elementary students and teachers for winning the Florida Dairy Council Defend Your Turf Challenge, hosting Play 60 drills and sharing the importance of a healthy diet.

In October 2016, joined teammates and the entire Buccaneers business operations staff for the team’s “Hometown Huddle”, helping to refurbish the Sulphur Springs K-8 School and Community Center and interact with students. 

In September 2016, visited Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa to visit with families battling cancer and run Play 60 drills for the children of patients and staff.  

In June 2016, hosted a Play 60 event for children from the Jackson Heights NFL Y.E.T. Center. 

In June 2016, toured MacDill Air Force Base to greet military servicemen and servicewomen and learn about the important role that the base plays in the Tampa community and beyond. 

In May 2016, went bowling with rookie or first-year firefighters and paramedics from the City of Tampa.
