Buccaneers High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week presented by Nike
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers in collaboration with Andy Villamarzo, Rivals High School National Sports Reporter, will select all nominees based on specific criteria. Now, it is up to you to vote for the Buccaneers High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week presented by Nike. Voting will start on Tuesdays of each week at 9:00 a.m. and end on the Thursdays of that week at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced on the Saturday of that week and posted on buccaneers.com/coachoftheweek and on our social channels.
Winning coaches receive a $2,000 grant from the Bucs Foundation to help maintain and upgrade their football programs.
Please consider the following criteria when voting for the 2025 Buccaneers Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week presented by Nike:
- Have winning record, beat a longtime rival, snap a losing streak, defeat a defending champion, and/or record an amazing comeback victory.
- Show commitment to player safety by teaching the fundamentals of the game, proper techniques, concussion management practices and adherence to heat and hydration techniques.
- Display a strong rapport and have earned respect from the team's players.
- Have developed a mutually respectful relationship with game officials by using acceptable methods for questioning and avoiding disruptive behavior.
- Be a leader in the game field by always exhibiting positive behavior.
- Be involved with outside organizations such as camps, clinics, and coaching conventions.
- Be involved with community programs.
- Developed excellent relationships with other coaches by being cooperative, considerate and being positive with game related media statements."
WEEK 8 NOMINEES:
Steinbrenner High School, Gregg Puskas — The Warriors are 10–4 this season, establishing themselves as a top contender in the state of Florida. Coach Puskas recently captured his 150th win over #2 ranked Tampa Catholic. Then this past week, they earned an impressive 26–6 victory over Durant.
Plant High School, Derrick Baity — The Panthers are 8–2 this season, highlighted by multiple shutout victories. Last week, they secured a hard-fought 26–20 win over Lennard.
Martin County High School, Jeff Padgett — The Tigers are 13–1 this season, ranking among the top 50 teams in the nation. Their last two victories have been shutouts, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the field.
Bloomingdale, Larry Langston — The Bulls are 7–7 this season. Last week, they earned a huge victory over Plant City, scoring 56 unanswered points.
