BUCCANEERS PROMOTE GRAY TO ACTIVE ROSTER

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed defensive back J.T. Gray to the active roster from the team's practice squad. Additionally, the club has waived linebacker Nick Jackson.

Gray (6-0, 202) was signed to Tampa Bay's practice squad on November 21. He was elevated in Week 15, making his Buccaneers debut and recording one special teams tackle. Gray has appeared in 100 career games between the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos and Buccaneers. A one-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro selection on special teams (2021 first-team, 2019 and 2024 second-team), Gray has recorded 90 career special teams tackles – second-most in the NFL since he joined the league. On defense, he has contributed an additional 14 tackles (one for loss), three fumble recoveries, 2.5 sacks, two quarterback hits, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. Gray played collegiately at Mississippi State University (2014–17), appearing in 46 career games and totaling 211 tackles (14.5 for loss), eight passes defensed, 4.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception (returned 58 yards for a touchdown). The Clarksdale, Mississippi, native wears No. 48 for Tampa Bay.
