The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has re-signed cornerback Ryan Smith.
Smith (5-11, 189) originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (108th overall) by the Buccaneers in the 2016 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 57 games, including 16 starts, for Tampa Bay, notching 98 tackles (one for loss), 12 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception over his first four seasons in the league.
On special teams, Smith has notched 15 tackles and a forced fumble, while also returning 10 kickoffs for 169 yards (16.9 avg.). He led Tampa Bay with seven special teams tackles in 2019.
The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native played collegiately at North Carolina Central. He wears No. 29 for Tampa Bay.
