More good news for the Buccaneer defense as they got both inside linebacker Devin White and cornerback Jamel Dean back to practice on Wednesday, albeit both in a limited capacity. The bad news for the defense came as defensive tackle Vita Vea appears on this week's report with a neck injury. He was limited in Wednesday's practice. Outside linebacker Shaq Barrett popped up again on this week's injury report with a nagging groin injury, as well. Barrett was limited in practice last week but proceeded to have a strip sack, an interception and was a general menace to Rams quarterback Jared Goff last Sunday.
Inside linebacker Jack Cichy suffered a freak injury to his elbow on the Buccaneers last kickoff of the game on Sunday following the Barrett strip sack and subsequent Suh scoop and score (hello, alliteration). Cichy sat out practice on Wednesday as a result and Head Coach Bruce Arians said he'll be out anywhere between two to four weeks, most likely.
Offensively, tackle Demar Dotson was added to the report with a calf injury. Wide receiver Chris Godwin, who had an insane 12-catch, 172-yard game in LA, center Ryan Jensen and wide receiver Breshad Perriman rounded out the injury report. Jensen has been nursing a back issue but apparently refused to come out of the game on Sunday, according to Arians.
"That fourth quarter, most guys probably would have came out, his back was locked up, but he just kept battling," Arians said. "He said, 'I'm not coming out.'"
Perriman is still dealing with a hamstring issue but he was active on Sunday, as well.
Notable names to appear on the injury report for the Saints included defensive end Cameron Jordan who was limited with a calf injury and guard Andrus Peat who was limited with a thigh injury.
Official player statuses for Sunday's game will be announced on Friday.
