January 5, 2025 is a day that few of the 63,001 Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans at Raymond James Stadium – as well as many more watching on TV – will ever forget. The main headline was that the Buccaneers beat the New Orleans Saints, 27-19, to clinch their fourth straight NFC South title, but there was a pretty significant side story as well. Hall of Fame-bound wide receiver Mike Evans came into the game needing 85 yards to tie Jerry Rice for the most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons in NFL history. With 36 seconds left in the game, Evans had 80 yards and the Buccaneers had just gotten the ball back in what would usually be a kneel-down situation.
Instead, the Bucs' offense ran one more live play, Baker Mayfield got the ball to Evans and the receiver turned upfield for a gain of nine on the very last play of the regular season to finish with 1,004 yards. The home sideline erupted in a wild celebration and the stands emitted a massive roar. It was, by the estimation of many, one of the most memorable moments in franchise history.
In fact, it was so good that it made it into our competition to determine the single Best Moment in nearly 50 seasons of Buccaneers football. Over the course of a month, Buccaneer fans will determine what that moment is using an NCAA bracket-style voting system. From franchise firsts to unforgettable finishes, we're putting legendary Bucs moments side-by-side. Over six rounds, fans will relive the plays, players, and milestones that have shaped the Buccaneers over 50 memorable seasons. The Rondé pick that silenced the Vet. The trophy toss that redefined a celebration. Warrick Dunn's improvised pitch to Shaun King. Every memory has its place - and the Krewe will decide which stands above the rest.

Each moment is represented by a short title but there will also be a longer description of the event to help fans choose which are deserving of moving on to the next round. Here are the four brackets and the initial matchups in each one. There is also a video of each moment that will help fans relive the experience. Don't wait, vote now!
As for Evans' big moment last season, it was one of the top vote getters in Round, thoroughly dominating its matchup with the day the Buccaneers sacked Eagles quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Doug Pederson nine times in a dominant 1999 win in Philadelphia. Other moments that encountered little resistance in the Round One voting included Tom Brady choosing the Bucs in free agency, Derrick Brooks putting the dagger in the Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, the first round of the 1995 draft producing two Hall of Famers and, of course, Barber's pick-six in the 2002 NFC Championship Game.
But, of course, things are going to get quite a bit tougher now that the field has been narrowed to 32 moments. How about the aforementioned Shaun King pitch-back to Warrick Dunn in the famous Bucs-Rams shootout in 2000 now having to do battle with Baker Mayfield's perfect game at Lambeau Field in 2023? Tough choice! And the Evans play we just mentioned that got him to 1,000 and also into our second round? Now it's going to go head-to-head with Antoine Winfield Jr.'s iconic peace sign in Super Bowl LV. That might be the most competitive matchup in all of Round Two.
Here are all the second round matchups you'll find in the Best Moments bracket.
