3 Stars of the Game Against the Seahawks in Week Five

A look at three standout Buccaneer performances against the Seattle Seahawks in Week Five

3 Stars Against Seattle

Chase McLaughlin

Chase McLaughlin converted all three of his field goal attempts on Sunday against Seattle, including the 39-yard game-winner as time expired. He is now 11 of his last 12 on field goal attempts, including two game-winners. Through Sunday's games, McLaughlin ranks second in points scored (47) and third in total field goals made (12). McLaughlin secured the victory over Seattle and was awarded the game ball following the victory on the road at Lumen Field.

Emeka Egbuka

Emeka Egbuka, a Tacoma, Washington, native, recorded a career-best 163 yards on seven receptions against his hometown team, with one touchdown. Egbuka's five touchdown receptions through five career games are tied for the eighth-most since the 1970 merger and are the most ever by a Bucs player. The rookie surpassed 100 yards receiving for the second consecutive game. Egbuka became the sixth rookie wide receiver since 2020 to record back-to-back 100-yard receiving performances, joining Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Puka Nacua, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Brian Thomas Jr.

Egbuka is the first player in NFL annals with 25-plus receptions, 400-plus receiving yards and five-or-more receiving touchdowns in his first five career games. He also became one-of-four players over the last 50 years with 20-plus receptions, 300-plus receiving yards and 5-plus receiving touchdowns through five career games, joining Ja'Marr Chase (2021), Roy Williams (2004) and Randy Moss (1998). Egbuka's 163 yards receiving against the Seahawks are the most by a rookie in a single game this season. He owns three of the top five receiving performances so far in 2025 among rookies. Egbuka controls the catch point and influences coverage by varying his route tempo. He pairs an elite catch radius with outstanding ball-tracking skills and is making history week-by-week on the field.

Lavonte David

Lavonte David finished the Week Five clash tied for the team lead with nine tackles, including one for a loss, in addition to bringing in the game-sealing interception. With just under a minute to play, Sam Darnold's pass grazed the helmet of Logan Hall, redirecting its path, and David capitalized with the takeaway to put Baker Mayfield right back on the field. Among active players, David is tied for second in tackles for loss (173), trailing only Calais Campbell (191). He now leads all active linebackers in interceptions, with 14, surpassing Bobby Wagner (13).
