The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today elevated linebacker Nick Jackson and outside linebacker Mohamed Kamara (muh-HA-med, kuh-MARE-uh) from the practice squad for the team's Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. It marks the second elevation of the season for Jackson and the third for Kamara.
Jackson (6-0, 235) was elevated in Week 10, making his NFL debut and appearing on special teams. He originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers in May of 2025 after playing collegiately at the University of Virginia (2019–22) and the University of Iowa (2023-24), where he combined to appear in 73 career games – 60 starts – and record 555 tackles (33.0 for loss), 20 passes defensed, 17.0 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception. Jackson's 73 games played are the most in NCAA history, and 555 tackles stand as the second-most in FBS history, trailing only Troy's Carlton Martial (577 from 2018-22) and ahead of Boston College's Luke Kuechly (532 from 2009-11). Jackson posted four straight 100-tackle seasons from 2020-2023, receiving second-team All-ACC honors after the 2022 season and third-team All-Big Ten honors after the 2023 season. The Atlanta native wears No. 53 for Tampa Bay.
Kamara (6-1, 253) was previously elevated in Week 8 and Week 10, appearing primarily on special teams. He originally entered the league as a fifth-round pick (No. 158 overall) by the Miami Dolphins in the 2024 NFL Draft, and has since appeared in seven career games between the Dolphins and Buccaneers, totaling one tackle and one quarterback hit. Kamara played collegiately at Colorado State University (2019–23), appearing in 49 career games with 33 starts and recording 179 tackles (45.5 for loss), 30.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two passes defensed. He finished his career at Colorado State ranking second in school history in sacks and third in tackles for loss. His most productive collegiate season came in 2023 when he was named first-team All-Mountain-West and the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year after recording 56 tackles (17.0 for loss) 13.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed. The Newark, New Jersey, native wears No. 59 for Tampa Bay.
