BUCCANEERS MAKE PRACTICE SQUAD ROSTER MOVES 11-8-23

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today placed offensive lineman Silas Dzansi (JAN-zee) on practice squad Injured Reserve and signed cornerback Don Gardner to the practice squad.

Dzansi (6-5, 335) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers on May 12, 2023. He played collegiately at Virginia Tech University, starting 34-of-49 games across five seasons (2018-22). The Woodbridge, Virginia, native started 18 games across his final two seasons with the Hokies, contributing to an offensive line that generated 180 rushing yards per game.

Gardner (6-1, 180) entered the league as a college free agent with the Buccaneers on May 13, 2022, and has appeared in one career game for Tampa Bay. Gardner played five seasons at South Dakota State (2017-21), appearing in 48 career games for the Jackrabbits and tallying 133 tackles (11 for loss), 20 passes defensed, four interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. The Chicago native earned All-MVFC (Missouri Valley Football Conference) honors twice and was second-team All-America in 2020-21. Gardner also played in the 2020-21 FCS national title game for the Jackrabbits.
