DeAndre Ward Sr. enters his third season as assistant strength & conditioning coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024.
Ward joined Tampa Bay after spending two seasons as assistant strength & conditioning coach at Mississippi State from 2020-21. He began his coaching career as assistant strength & conditioning coach for the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2018-19.
Beginning his career as a walk-on in 2013 at Mississippi State, Ward later earned a full scholarship to play linebacker for the Bulldogs, spending four seasons in Starkville (2013-16), and recording 79 tackles (five for loss), 1.5 sacks and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. Ward played in a bowl game every season of his collegiate career and was part of the 2014 Mississippi State team that reached the No. 1 overall ranking in the country.
He and his wife, Meagan, have two sons, JR and Daylin, and a daughter, Vonne.
