Biography
Mike Greenberg enters his 13th season with the Buccaneers and second as the vice president of football administration, having spent the previous eight as director of football administration and two seasons as the coordinator of football administration. He originally joined the club as player personnel assistant in 2010.

Greenberg works directly with General Manager Jason Licht on all aspects of the salary cap, contract negotiations, compliance with the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement, as well as the club's financial and strategic planning. He also oversees budgeting for all football operations, including the coaching, scouting, video, athletic training, equipment, groundskeeping, strength and conditioning and player development departments.
This offseason Greenberg worked to sign several free agents including, wide receiver free agent Russell Gage, defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, wide receiver Julio Jones, and tight end Kyle Rudolph. Greenberg also played a key role in negotiating contracts to re-sign cornerback Carlton Davis, Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin, and Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen – all three will remain in Tampa for the next three seasons.
In addition to moves made this offseason, Greenberg was able to negotiate a contract extension with nose tackle Vita Vea in Week 18 of the 2021 season.
The 2021 offseason resulted in the Buccaneers becoming the first team in the Super Bowl era to return all 22 starters after winning the Super Bowl. Greenberg played a crucial part in re-signing outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett, linebacker Lavonte David, tight end Rob Gronkowski, defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh, running back Leonard Fournette, while also extending Super Bowl LV MVP Tom Brady. Offensive lineman Donovan Smith also signed his second contract extension with the team in March.
During the 2020 offseason, Greenberg was vital in negotiating quarterback Tom Brady's two-year contract. He also oversaw the re-signings of former Pro Bowlers Jason Pierre-Paul and Ndamukong Suh, two key veteran presences on the Buccaneers defense. Greenberg was named a 2020 Tampa Bay Business Journal 40 under 40 honoree, in addition to also being listed on The Athletic's "NFL 40 Under 40: The rising stars shaping the direction of the NFL."
In his role as Director of Football Administration, Greenberg oversaw long-term contract extensions for linebacker Lavonte David and wide receiver Mike Evans, each of whom have earned Pro Bowl honors during their time with Tampa Bay. Greenberg also worked on extensions for offensive linemen Ali Marpet and Donovan Smith, both of whom have been starters since joining the team in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Before joining the Buccaneers, Greenberg worked with the New York Jets as a football administration intern in 2008 and 2009. He also spent time working as a law clerk for the National Football League's Management Council and as a summer associate at Jaspan Schlesinger LLP.
Greenberg graduated with honors from Cornell University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in policy analysis and management, and earned a Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law on a full academic scholarship in 2010. He also was the research editor for the Hofstra Law Review. Greenberg is licensed to practice law in New York.
In 2017, Greenberg was inducted into the John F. Kennedy (Bellmore, New York) High School Hall of Fame. He and his wife, Ilana, have three sons, Hank, Harry, and Gus. They reside in Tampa.
