The Bucs appeared to be building on their 10-win season in 2010 in Raheem Morris' third season at the helm but instead wound up with one of the most desultory campaigns in franchise history. After winning three of their first four and improving to 4-2 through the first six weeks, the Buccaneers would go on to lose their final 10 contests, many of them in lopsided fashion. The collapse became complete over the last five weeks as the Bucs gave up 31 or more points in every game and lost by an average margin of more than three touchdowns. After throwing just six interceptions in a breakout 2010 season, Josh Freeman was picked off 22 times while the Buccaneers' defense allowed a league-high 494 points and a whopping 26 rushing touchdowns. The offseason was disrupted by a lockout prior to a late agreement on a new CBA, meaning no practice in the spring and an extremely condensed free agency period in which the Bucs' only real signing was punter Michael Koenen. Morris was dismissed shortly after the season.
