Started at left guard in the Week 4 win over Philadelphia, playing all 77 offensive snaps and contributing to an offensive line that helped generate 445 net yards of offense. The Buccaneers posted a +218 net yardage differential over the Eagles in the 33-16 win.

Started at left guard and played 66- of-77 offensive snaps in the Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers, contributing to an offensive line that helped produce 551 net yards of offense — the sixth-most in a single game in team history. The Buccaneers beat the Panthers 48-14, tying the franchise record for the most points scored in a home game.

In the Week 18 win over the New Orleans Saints, started at left guard and played all 67 offensive snaps, contributing to an offensive line that produced over 100 rushing yards for the eighth straight game and for the 14th time in 18 games.

Started at left guard in the Wild Card round against the Washington Commanders, playing all 48 offensive snaps and contributing to an offense that produced over 100 rushing yards and a passer rating of 146.5.

Appeared in 51 career games with 46 starts at left guard the University of Michigan (2016-19).

Was twice voted a team captain by his teammates (2018-19).

As a senior in 2019, named second-team All-America by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, third-team All-America by the AP and first-team All-Big Ten by coaches and media.

Was named second-team All-Big Ten by coaches and media in 2017-18 and academic All-Big Ten in 2017.

Majored in Psychology.

His father played football at Illinois,
and his older brother, Jack, spent four years on the University of Michigan baseball team. His younger brother, Max, currently plays for the Wolverines.

Attended Arrowhead High School (Hartland, Wis.). Helped them win the WIAA Division I state championships in 2012 and 2013.

In 2015, was named Wisconsin's Gatorade Player of the Year, was first- team USA Today All-American and first- team MaxPreps All-America.
