"He's a very physical player, he's a very good run blocker. He did a good job last week getting up to the second level. He's quick. He's like a third starter for us at guard."
(On the status of OL Tristan Wirfs)
"He's good to go. He's moving around [well]. He's ready to play."
(On if Houston Texans Head Coach DeMeco Ryans is the first former player that Bowles has coached that he will coach against)
"As a head coach, yes. I think I'm getting pretty old, but… He's a heck of a guy, he's a heck of a player, he's a heck of a coach. He's a very smart person and he's a good person off the field – an even greater person than he is a coach. He's doing a heck of a job down there. I'm very happy for him, proud of him [and] he knows he can call me at any time."
(On there being only nine former players that are now head coaches, and specifically five former defensive players who are head coaches)
"I hadn't looked at it that way. The defensive guys are fighting for equality, I guess. [laughs] It's an offensive league, but defensive guys understand football, as well. Hopefully more of them get opportunities."
(On what he thinks of the team's attitude and effort this week)
"The attitude and effort has been great every week."
