TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS QUOTE SHEET 9-23-23

HEAD COACH TODD BOWLES

(On if NT Vita Vea and LB Devin White will be ready to play in Monday's game due to their recent injuries)

"Hopefully, with two more days they get the chance to heal up a little more. They should be okay by Monday, but we will see."

(On CB Carlton Davis III's status for Monday's game)

"It will probably come down to a game-time decision. We will work him out Sunday and see how he feels Monday."

(On if DL Calijah Kancey and LB SirVocea Dennis are the only ones ruled out for Monday's game)

"For sure, right now."

(On what he sees from this group coming off of two wins)

"We've only won two games. There is no complacency ever. We are still getting things ironed out on both sides of the ball, including special teams, and we're working to get better."

(On what the biggest responsibility is for DB Christian Izien)

"He's part corner, part safety, part inside [linebacker], part outside [linebacker], so he's got to be a very heady football player. It takes a different kind of guy to play that position, and you can be a great corner and never go inside or vice versa, so you have to have a different mentality to understand the front, the middle, and the backend. He can do it, he's done it in college. He's adapted to it very well – usually it takes new guys a long time to adjust to that position. We put a lot on his plate, and he does a great job with it."

(On what he has seen from WR Mike Evans playing in a new system)

"Mike's been a pro. He loves to catch the ball, he loves to play the game, he loves to block, he loves to do it all, so he is excited about it. It's something new for him to learn, but his production hasn't dropped off one bit. He's just as excited as he was the past few years."

(On what he has seen from CB Jamel Dean through the first two weeks of the season)

"Consistency would be the main thing. I thought the first game he played outstanding. I thought [after] last week we've got to work on some things that he should be able to clean up this weekend."

(On what he has seen from OL Robert Hainsey preparing for the Philadelphia Eagles)

"It will be big for our whole offensive line, but it's going to be important for Hainsey to get the Mike [linebacker] points right, understand, and get everybody on the same page upfront, as well as just blocking them individually."

(On the connection between QB Baker Mayfield and WR Mike Evans)

"It's working together. Understanding the offense, the more you practice, the more you get acclimated together, the more you get to find out what people like and don't like. I think they have a good feel for each other, and it's been clicking."

(On what is key for WR Mike Evans to have longevity in his career)

"Staying healthy is one thing. You can't ask a guy older than 30 if 30 is old, that's the other thing. He works on his body, takes care of himself, and he loves to play the game, like I said. His production hasn't dropped one bit."

(On the importance of running the ball against the Philadelphia Eagles)

"I don't know exactly how it's going to go on either side of the ball, but we both have been through two weeks as much as you can play the run, and a part of that is playing with leads and everything else on both sides of the ball. This will be a good test. I think the turnovers will be a big part of this ballgame, that will dictate everything."

(On his message his message to the team will be on Monday)

"Same as it's always been. We go out play, execute, and play our game."
