2022 Highlights:

Appeared in 13 games, making three starts, in 2022. Finished with 17 tackles and one pass defensed. Added seven special teams tackles, tied for second-most on the team.

Was inactive for Weeks 1-4.

Appeared in a reserve capacity and on special teams in Week 5 vs. Atlanta, recording his first career tackle. Also added one tackle on special teams.

Played in 14 games as a true freshman, starting 10, intercepting three passes to become the first Sam Houston freshman with three-or-more picks in a season since 1973. McCollum added 42 tackles, a career-best 17 passes defensed and 1.0 sack.

Personal:

Attended Ball High School (Galveston, Texas), where he was a team captain, team MVP and all-county performer. Ball High School is also the alma mater of Tampa Bay's all-time leading receiver, Mike Evans.
