Buccaneers High School Coach of the Week

It is up to you to vote for the Buccaneers High School Coach of the Week. Voting will start on Tuesdays of each week starting on at 9:00 a.m. and end on the Thursdays of that week at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced on Fridays and posted on buccaneers.com/coachoftheweek shortly after.

Please consider the following criteria when voting for the 2025 Buccaneers Coach of the Week:

  1. Have winning record, beat a longtime rival, snap a losing streak, defeat a defending champion, and/or record an amazing comeback victory.
  2. Show commitment to his player's safety by teaching the fundamentals of the game, proper tackling techniques, concussion management practices and adherence to heat and hydration techniques.
  3. Display a strong rapport and have earned respect from his players.
  4. Have developed a mutually respectful relationship with game officials by using acceptable methods for questioning and avoiding disruptive behavior.
  5. Be a leader in the game field by always exhibiting positive behavior.
  6. Be involved with outside organizations such as camps, clinics, and coaching conventions.
  7. Be involved with community programs.
  8. Developed excellent relationships with other coaches by being cooperative, considerate and being positive with game related media statements.

The winner will receive an additional grant for $2,000 from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation to help maintain and upgrade their football program and receive (4) tickets to an upcoming Buccaneers game courtesy of Ticketmaster.

WEEK 8 NOMINEES:

Jesse Chinchar, St. Petersburg Catholic- St. Petersburg Catholic is off to a dominant 7-0 start in the 2025 season, marking a major turnaround for the program. The Barons have showcased a balanced, high-powered offense, while their defense has consistently shut down opponents, allowing just a few points per game.

Mark Cristiani, Riverview High School- Coach Cristiani has completely transformed Riverview High's football program, leading the team to a 6-1 start in 2025. Known for his discipline, leadership, and military background, Cristiani has created a culture of accountability and unity. His no-nonsense approach has earned respect across the roster, stabilized the team, and quickly turned the Rams into a serious contender.

Thor Jozwiak, Clearwater High School - Coach Jozwiak is in his 6th season as Head Coach at Clearwater High School. He has put together a very impressive resume by reaching the regional playoffs in each of his first five seasons as coach. Clearwater is coming off a huge 46-7 win over River Ridge High School this past Friday Night and look to continue their recent success this Friday night against East Lake High School!

Elijah Williams, Jones High School - Coach Williams is in his 10th season at the helm with Jones High School and has the Fightin' Tigers in 1st place in 4A District 7. Since Elijah Williams became the head football coach, over 135 students have signed to play college football. The Fightin' Tigers are currently on a three-game winning streak after beating Lake Wales this past Friday by a score of 48-22.
