BUCCANEERS ELEVATE LAIRD AND RAMIREZ

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today elevated running back Patrick Laird and outside linebacker Jose Ramirez from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday night's Wild Card matchup against Philadelphia. It marks the first elevation of the season for both players.

Laird (6-0, 205) has spent the last two seasons on Tampa Bay's practice squad after a three-year stint with the Miami Dolphins (2019-21), where he appeared in 37 games, with four starts, and logged 76 rushes for 244 yards and one touchdown. In addition, he added 36 receptions for 289 yards in the passing game. The San Luis Obispo, California, native and University of California, Berkeley product, entered the league as a college free agent with the Dolphins in 2019. He wears No. 25 for Tampa Bay.

Ramirez (6-2, 242) has spent the entire 2023 season on Tampa Bay's practice squad after being selected by the Buccaneers in the sixth round (No. 196 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Eastern Michigan University (2019-22), where he appeared in 36 games and recorded 156 tackles (34 for loss), 20.5 sacks, seven passes defensed and six forced fumbles. At Eastern Michigan, Ramirez was a three-time All-MAC (Mid-American Conference) honoree, including receiving first-team honors and being named MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 after posting career highs in sacks (12.0) and tackles for loss (19.5). He is a native of Lake Alfred, Florida, and wears No. 33 for Tampa Bay.
