Buccaneers Select Quotes: Friday, November 9, 2018

Below is a selection of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quotes from today's earlier media availability. Full video of press conferences can be found on Buccaneers.com.

Head Coach Dirk Koetter

(On if defensive end Vinny Curry injured the same ankle)

"It is. Yeah, it is. These guys, they try hard to get back. Sometimes they try to come back too quick and they relapse on it. Vinny's going to be out this week."

(On if the league is shifting to where great offense is more important than great defense)

"I don't know. I don't know the answer to that."

(On if he has to choose to allocate resources between free agency or the draft)

"I think everyone would chose the draft if they had a choice. Just the way the salary cap is set up, I mean, based on where your quarterback's at and how much you're paying your QB and then your other top players. I think in a perfect world, you look at a team like the Rams who haven't had to pay their quarterback yet, they can afford to pay free agents. Some of the teams don't have that luxury. Perfect world, everybody hits on their draft picks and gets the salary cap right then just plugs in with free agency."

(On how well he knows Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden)

"I don't know him that well. Played golf with him at the coach's thing, and he kicked my butt. I know he's a better golfer than me."

(On how linebacker Kendall Beckwith is progressing)

"He's not going to play Sunday. We have to make a decision by [November 20] and Kendall had a much better week this week than he did last week. Again, as I said earlier in the week, it'll be a combination of the doctors – the doctors have got to give him full clearance – and then he's going to have to feel good about it. I'll just say it's a lot brighter today than it was three days ago. We'll just have to see how the [stretch] plays out."
