The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has signed kicker Phillip Andersen.
Andersen (5-11, 208) is a Denmark native who has most recently kicked for the Berlin Rebels of the German Football League (GFL), the highest-level American football league in Germany. Andersen has worked as a kicker and punter in Europe since 2012, spending time with the Amager Demons, Herlev Rebels and Søllerød Gold Diggers of the Danish American Football Federation (DAFF), as well as the Berlin Eagles of the GFL. With the Eagles, Andersen won a Eurobowl in 2014 and was a member of the Danish national team that went to the European Championship final.
Andersen has qualified for the Husted Kicking Pro Camp in each of the past four years (2016-19). The camp, started by former Buccaneers kicker Michael Husted, is designed to help showcase kickers vying to make NFL rosters.
