The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that cornerback Carlton Davis III (No. 24), who is on the Reserve/Injured list, begins his 21-day practice period today. He is eligible to be promoted to the active roster at any time during the 21-day window.
In addition, the Buccaneers signed wide receiver John Hurst to the practice squad, filling the spot left by wide receiver Jaydon Mickens, who was signed off Tampa Bay's practice squad by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hurst (6-2, 190) originally entered the league as a college free agent with Tampa Bay in 2020. He has spent parts of the past two seasons on the practice squads of the Buccaneers and the Los Angeles Chargers. Over four collegiate seasons at West Georgia, Hurst caught 77 passes for 1,242 yards (16.1 avg.) and 12 touchdowns in 35 career games, earning him a spot on the West Georgia All-Decade Team.
