HEAD COACH TODD BOWLES
(On who he can rule out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams)
"[Ben] Bredeson is out, Bucky [Irving] is out, [Jamel] Dean is out [and Haason] Reddick is out."
(On the difficulty of deciding whether or not to give practice reps to players working their way back from injuries when he is unsure if they will be available to play that week)
"They can get scout-team reps as well – they don't have to get reps on the first team. You can put them on the other side of the ball to make sure they get all their reps in and get their wind in, and then put them on the other side to get the reps they need."
(On if he expects WR Chris Godwin Jr. to play on Sunday vs. Los Angeles)
"He's definitely trending towards playing."
(On what WR Chris Godwin Jr. does functionally for the offense)
"He's extremely smart, number one. He's great in the run game and in the pass game, he's a heck of a blocker, and he's a heck of a receiver. [He] has great hands [that are] reliable. He's one of [those] guys once Baker [Mayfield] starts to scramble that knows how to get open, and he finds them and he trusts him, so it brings an added element for us."
(On how the team prepares for Los Angeles Ram's QB Matthew Stafford)
"It's the NFL, we're preparing for ourselves right now. The things that we bust and mess up from a gameplan standpoint, we [have] to correct ourselves. The quarterbacks are going to be great every week. We understand who we're playing against and how great they've been playing, but we [have] to step up and play great."
(On a report that RB Bucky Irving is dealing with more than just physical injuries)
"He's not going through much off the field. He got hurt [and] he didn't handle it well because he [was] hurt for the first time. He had a full practice this week; [he] will definitely be trending up and playing next week. We're just preparing him for the Arizona [Cardinals] game, which is what we were getting him ready for and that's what he'll be ready for."
(On how he feels, as a former defensive coordinator, to give up 44 points as they did versus the Bills in Week 11)
"It's painful. I'm a head [coach], number one, I'm a defensive guy second. I don't know why you all keep saying that, because everything falls on me from offense to special teams to defense. It's painful anytime we lose and it's painful anytime one of those groups don't perform."
(On if RB Bucky Irving's shoulder injury or ankle injury has limited him more throughout his rehabilitation process)
"The shoulder more than the ankle, but he's been doing great the last week and a half."
