(On CB Jacob Parrish's injury status)

"Yeah, he just has a back sprain. Both [the] X-ray and MRI came back negative, so it's just a matter of him getting over his soreness."

(On how CB Benjamin Morrison played in Parrish's absence)

"I thought he played very well. He prepared well. He practiced like that all week. When he got in the game, he didn't miss a beat. He tackled well. He covered well. I thought he did a heck of a job."

(On evaluating the team's pass rush against the Cincinnati Bengals)

"I don't think it was very good for the fact that we didn't work together. I thought they tried to be too many individuals up there. For us to be effective, we've got to work together."

(On QB Baker Mayfield's turnovers and knowing when to give up on a play)

"Well, he knows he's got to take care of the football, and we don't want the turnovers. He doesn't want them either. We've got to get better at that and understand there are times you just have to get down – understanding the play call and knowing when you've got the first down, knowing when the game's on the line, and knowing when it's not. So, obviously we don't like the turnovers, and he'll be better this week."

(On evaluating Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson's first game calling plays for Tampa Bay)

"I don't think there's an evaluation of one game. We turned the ball over quite a bit, so you really can't tell. We moved the ball some. [There are] some plays everybody likes to have back as a coordinator, but he's effective in the things that we're doing, and I like where he's at right now."

(On the potential of the offense if it can limit turnovers)

"We scored 27 [points] and still had the turnovers, so we've got to do a better job not turning it over. We just want to be effective and have positive plays, and I think we can be an effective offense."

(On LB Alex Anzalone's performance in coverage)

"His man coverage was fine. I think [Mike] Gesicki got two plays on two zone coverages where we didn't drop the right way. He missed a couple tackles that he'd like to have back – obviously, you don't want that part of it. He was rusty [for] the first game, but I know he'll bounce back this one."

(On WR Chris Godwin Jr.'s performance)

"I mean, he played hard and he played fast. He played winning football for us. You know, we lost the game, but certain people had some good performances, but they don't count when you lose."

(On the connection between QB Baker Mayfield and WR Emeka Egbuka)

"I mean, it's good. He's still working his way back. He's missed a lot of time, but obviously coming in and being effective early kind of helped him out going forward. As we get in better shape, going down the line for the guys that haven't practiced too much, I think we'll be a lot better going forward."

(On whether RB Bucky Irving looked like he did during his rookie season)

"Yeah, he did. I mean, he was very sharp running the football-wise. Obviously, you've got to protect [the ball] better and understand…You know, he has some of that with Baker [Mayfield]. He understands his power is of the Hulk, but his size is probably of Ant-Man, so he's got to understand when and when not to take on certain things in certain situations as well – at least put two hands on the ball – and he understands that."

(On the third-down play where Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow checked to a quarterback draw against an open middle of the defensive line)

"The middle is never vacant in our defense."

(On whether the open middle of the defensive line was the result of a mistake)

"That's what usually happens."

(On LB Josiah Trotter's NFL debut)

"We said he's a football player. He's a football player. He had an impact on the game, and he'll continue to get better and better. [There are] some things he'd like to have back that you learn as a rookie, but he definitely made an impact on the game."

(On the performances of outside linebackers Rueben Bain Jr. and Yaya Diaby)

"Again, we can play better. We can play better. I don't think they were the sharpest. I thought Yaya played hard. I thought Bain played [hard]…He probably took a step back in terms of the mental aspect of it, but that comes with working together with everybody else in the pass-rush game as well, and we've got to do a better job up front at that."

(On NT Vita Vea's conditioning and performance)

"The conditioning part was fine. The hand placement was a little rusty. Obviously, as he gets the reps, he'll be better and better, and he knows that, and we'll look forward to him being better this week with more practice time."

(On WR Ted Hurst III's NFL debut)

"I thought Ted played fast. He played very fast. He played hard, and when they threw to him, he was open, so they got him the ball. I think he'll be fine."

(On whether Hurst's late production was a function of the two-minute offense)

"No, he played fast. I mean, the coverage dictates the targets, and, you know, the coverage was there [when] the targets didn't go that way, but he played fast the entire game."

(On his message to the team following the Week 1 loss)

"[We've] got to clean up the little things. You know, you've got to clean up the little things. That starts in practice, and everybody knows that. Some guys have very good individual games, but individuals don't win games – teams do. We've got to play a lot better. We've got to communicate better. Obviously, we can coach it better, but we've got to be a lot tougher going into this week."

(On the challenge of getting individuals to play as a team)

"That's a challenge every year. We play as a team. We play as a team. It's a mistake here or there, or somebody not on the same page mentally, and that comes with it, and it's the first-game jitters of playing that many plays at the same time, so we've got to eliminate that quickly."

(On QB Baker Mayfield facing his former team, the Cleveland Browns, for the first time and if that will affect his play)

"No, I don't think so. Baker is a very smart guy. He understands that he has to play better and take care of the football. That comes first, and then we'll worry about the opponent."

CORNERBACK ZYON MCCOLLUM

(On limiting Cincinnati's top wide receivers and the defense's overall performance in Week 1)

"Yeah, I mean, it was good, you know, coming together. It was something that we've been harping on all summer and something me and Jacob [Parrish] and 'B-Mo' (Benjamin Morrison) knew coming into Week 1. We've been harping on it and [have] been trying to be sharp in our coverage and everything. It sucks to not come out on the winning end of that, but it's Week 1. The games count now, but it's still a long season, and we'll clean up some of these details."

(On CB Benjamin Morrison's performance after entering the game in Week 1)

"100%. I mean, we've all known that he's a player, and I think it's kind of just been in-house, us seeing how good he can be and what he's been showing just because he has missed a lot of time. But, it was really just him getting back into shape. You know, he's always been able to play football, but him getting his body right, getting his mind right and then getting into playing shape. [He] went out there and did amazing. I mean, he got kind of thrown into the fire, and he handled it like a pro, and that's what we expect from him, and that's what he expects from himself. He knows that he's a top corner in this league, and that's his mindset and what he wants to grow into."

(On LB Josiah Trotter's performance in his NFL debut)

"It was amazing. I mean, he handles himself so well. You can tell he's a rookie in terms of how much, I guess, a childlike nature he has, you know, like a giddiness about him…Like, he's definitely joyful when he's out there on the field. He's a thinker, he's really, really smart, and it's his background, too. It's the way that he approaches it. He also wants to compete with his brother (Philadelphia Eagles LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr.) a little bit. So, him making plays, I mean, it's only the beginning for him."

(On Trotter's interception return for a touchdown)

"He read it [perfectly]. I mean, we all kind of covered down, and it was a play that he had gotten in practice, and he was a little bit late on it. He told me afterwards that he was late on it in practice. He was going to make sure that he was never late on it in a game, and he wasn't."

(On returning home to play the Cleveland Browns at Raymond James Stadium in Week 2)

"[We are] definitely excited to get back in front of the home crowd and to hear everybody. It's always fun being home, and we want to give our fans something to cheer about. We're looking to bounce back. You know, we've been winning in Week 1 every year since I've been here, and it hasn't ended in the Super Bowl. So, to come out not on the winning end in Week 1, we're not going to panic at all, and maybe this is the punch in the mouth that we need."
