THREE BUCCANEERS NAMED TO 2020 PRO BOWL

The National Football League announced today that Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett and wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been named to the 2020 Pro Bowl. Evans and Godwin are the first pair of wide receivers from the same team to be selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster since Arizona's Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald were each named to the 2009 Pro Bowl.

Barrett leads the NFL in sacks through Week 15, with 16.5, while ranking tied for first with 31 quarterback hits and six forced fumbles and tied for second with 16 tackles for loss. His 16.5 sacks are tied for the Buccaneers team record for a single season and are the most in a season by any undrafted player, since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. Barrett was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 2 at Carolina and earned NFC Defensive Player of the Month honors for September.

"To make the Pro Bowl, it's a dream come true," Barrett said. "That's the best way I can sum it up. I dreamed of this growing up. It's a huge honor and I can only hope that I'll have more to follow."

Evans has recorded 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns this season, securing his third-career Pro Bowl berth. It marks the sixth consecutive season that Evans surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving mark, joining Randy Moss as the only players in NFL history to accomplish that feat. He currently ranks fourth in the NFL in receiving yards, tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns and sixth with 17.3 yards per catch. Evans is the Buccaneers' all-time leader in receptions (462), receiving yards (7,260) and receiving touchdowns (48). This season, Evans also became the youngest player to reach 7,000 yards in NFL history (26 years, 81 days). He is one of just seven players in NFL history to amass 7,000+ yards, 450+ receptions and 45+ receiving touchdowns through 90 career games, along with Isaac Bruce, Larry Fitzgerald, A.J. Green, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss and Demaryius Thomas. Evans' three career Pro Bowl selections are tied with Tony Mayberry (1997-99) as the third-most appearances by an offensive player in team history.

"It's always an honor to be named to the Pro Bowl, but especially this year because I get to experience it with Chris," Evans said. "To be the first pair of receivers in Buccaneers history to go the Pro Bowl in the same season is awesome. We both work hard to be considered among the best in the league and each of us getting chosen shows that our efforts are paying off."

Godwin has tallied career highs across the board this season with 86 receptions for 1,333 yards (15.5 avg.) and nine receiving touchdowns. He stands second in the NFL in receiving yards, tied for second in receiving touchdowns and tied for sixth in receptions. Godwin has six 100-yard receiving performance this season, which are the second-most in the NFL. In addition, he has hauled in multiple touchdown receptions in a game three times this season, which tie for the most such games in the league in 2019 and match the most in a season in Buccaneers history. His 1,333 receiving yards are the fourth-most for a single season in team history, while his 86 receptions are tied for the third-most. The 2020 Pro Bowl bid is the first of Godwin's career and the first by a Tampa Bay receiver other than Evans since Vincent Jackson in 2012.

"Getting named to my first career Pro Bowl is such a blessing," Godwin said. "This is a special moment, and while I've worked hard to get to where I am in my career, I wouldn't have been able to do this without my teammates and coaches. I've had the chance to play alongside some of the best in the NFL, including Mike Evans, and sharing the honor with Mike makes it even better. I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity."

Evans and Godwin became the first pair of Buccaneers teammates to each record more than 1,100 yards receiving in the same season and the first pair of teammates in NFL history to each record three games with 150+ receiving yards in a single season.

The team's three Pro Bowl selections this season are its most since 2015.
